School Bus Accident
On Thursday March 16, 2006, at approximately 7:43 AM, The New Ipswich Police Department, New Ipswich Fire Department, and Souhegan Valley
Ambulance personnel responded to the intersection of Turnpike Road (Route 124) and Highbridge Road for a motor vehicle accident involving
a passenger vehicle and a school bus. The bus owned by N and M Bus lines of New Ipswich, NH was operated by Ruth Brouillet, age 57 of New
Ipswich. The vehicle was a 1996 Dodge Neon, operated by Eric Harbeck Jr. age 16 of New Ipswich.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the Harbeck vehicle entered Turnpike Road into the path of the school bus, causing the school
bus to strike the Neon on the drivers side front fender.
There were four occupants in the Harbeck vehicle and all were transported by Souhegan Valley Ambulance to Monadnock Community Hospital in
Peterborough, NH for minor injuries.
There were Thirty-three (33) students on the school bus. Five (5) students were transported by Jaffrey Ambulance and Wilton-Lyndeborough
Ambulance to Monadnock Community Hospital. One (1) student was transported by private vehicle for a leg injury. All injuries were minor
in nature. The New Hampshire Highway Patrol assisted at the scene of the accident.
