PRESS RELEASE
OHRV SEIZED AFTER NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS
On June 27, 2004 at approximately 1641 hours, police received a report that there was a blue four-wheeler
operating on Page Hill Road at a high rate of speed. Police received three complaints in reference to
the OHRV operating recklessly up and down the roadway, in such a manner that the operator almost lost
control coming over a hill.
As they were responding to the call, Police witnessed a blue four-wheeler traveling eastbound on Turnpike
Road. The operator lifted the front wheel off the ground as he went by. The operator refused to stop
when signaled to do so and turned onto Thayer Road. The operator allegedly almost ran a
resident down and then continued to flee.
The four-wheeler headed back towards the officer and stopped
in a driveway. When told to get off the vehicle, the operator, a white male subject wearing a white t-shirt,
blue and purple motorcross riding pants and a blue, white and purple motorcross helmet with a face mask
and dark colored visor, started to drive away again. He was operating a blue Yamaha racing four-wheeler
with white decals, short plastic fenders, a short black seat, and mud on the body.
After being told to stop several times, the operator fled the area in the direction of Greenfarm Road.
The vehicle almost hit a pedestrian on Greenfarm Road. The operator of the OHRV accelerated at such a
high rate of speed past the pedestrian down Greenfarm Road, that the rear of the four-wheeler was
sideways for at least 100 feet.
Police found the vehicle (pictured above) on Moose Drive and it was impounded and is being held as
evidence in a criminal investigation. They have a suspect, but the investigation is active and no
names can be released until the investigation is complete.
