Bank Robbery



On October 17, 2005 at approximately 2:35pm the New Ipswich Police Department received a report of a panic alarm at the TD Banknorth branch at 564 Turnpike Road. It was determined while police were enroute to the scene that an armed robbery had just occurred.

A male subject dressed in a gray business type suit and wearing what appeared to be fake facial hair, a wig and sunglasses approached the teller window, and demanded money. The suspect showed a handgun but there were no injuries in the incident.

The suspect was seen fleeing on foot towards the rear of the New Ipswich Market on Turnpike Road. An immediate search of the area was unsuccessful.

This investigation continues and as further information is developed, it will be forwarded in the manner of additional releases.
