PRESS RELEASE

November 1, 2003

On Saturday November 1, 2003 at 11:42 AM, the New Ipswich Police Department responded to a report of a two vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. On arrival, they determined that Scott Yates, 41, of Lowell, MA was stopped on Turnpike Road, attempting to make a left turn onto Timbertop Road in his 2002 Ford Explorer when he was struck from behind by a 1996 Hyundai Sonata operated by Kenneth Carlson, 77, of Fitzwilliam. The Explorer was struck with such force that it rolled over and landed on the driver's side, at the entrance to Timbertop Road.

Both drivers and a passenger were transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. The vehicles were towed from the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
