CRIME OF THE WEEK

November 17, 2003

On Monday November 17, 2003 at approximately 9:40 am, the New Ipswich Police Department received a report of a subject who had been shot in the face while standing at her mailbox on Turnpike Road. Police responded to the New Ipswich Family Medicine office and spoke to the victim, who was identified as Carol D. Gill-Britton, 51, of New Ipswich.

Gill-Britton was shot in the face just under her left eye. The BB pellet penetrated the skin and lodged in her cheek. Gill-Britton was unable to get a good description of the vehicle but was able to determine that the vehicle was light in color possibly beige. The vehicle was traveling Turnpike Road towards downtown New Ipswich.
