The Animal Control Officer is available to take care of complaints such as: barking dogs, loose animals, animal bites, lost pets, and animals struck by motor vehicles.

If you have lost your pet, please call 878-2771 immediately and notify the police or the Animal Control Officer. There has been more than one occasion where a pet was left in the kennel for several days because the owner did not report that it was missing.

There is a leash law in effect in the Town of New Ipswich. All dogs are required to be under their owner's control at all times. Dog owners are also required to register their pets at the Town Office. In order to get a dog license, the owner must provide proof of a current rabies vaccination.
