Sunday 2/3/02-
10:18: Motorist Assist: Police assisted a stranded
motorist on Route 123.
12:05: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Greenville
Police with a disturbance at a residence in Greenville.
15:00: Cat Bite: Police received a report that a woman
had been feeding a stray cat when it bit her. She was advised
to contact her doctor.
16:32: Theft: Police received a report that some plywood
had been stolen from a residence on Gibbs Avenue. There
are no suspects at this time.
Monday 2/4/02-
10:30: Police received a report of a cat that had been
struck by a car on River Road. The Animal Control Officer
was notified.
11:35: Criminal Threatening: Police investigated a report
of criminal threatening at Mascenic High School. A former
student had become upset about his brother's situation at
school and made some heated comments. the situation was
resolved and the school decided not to press charges.
15:50: Civil Standby: Police assisted with a civil standby
at a New Ipswich residence.
17:10: MV Accident: David Ward, 48, of New Ipswich reported
that he had been driving on Route 124 when a Mayflower moving
truck with Missouri plates passed him in the other direction. A large
chunk of ice came off the top of the trailer and shattered his
windshield. A witness saw the incident, but the plate number he
gave to police was not listed.
16:37: Ambulance Assist: Police assisted SVAS with a call at
a Vaillancourt Drive residence.
18:00: Disabled MV: Police received a report of a disabled
motor vehicle on Greenville Road. They found a white SUV
abandoned on the side of the road. A tow truck was called and
police cleared the scene.
18:40: Disabled MV: Greenville Police requested that the
New Ipswich Police check on an abandoned motor vehicle on
High Street in Greenville. The vehicle left the area before police
arrived.
18:50: Power Outage: Police responded to a power outage
on Ashburnham Road. They were unable to determine the cause
of the outage and PSNH was notified.
19:05: Power Outage: Police responded to a power outage on
Main Street. The outage was due to a faulty transformer and PSNH
was notified.
19:35: Structure Fire: Police assisted the New Ipswich Fire
Department at a structure fire on Ashburnham Road. The fire
was put out quickly, with no injuries and only minimal damage
to the building.
19:38: School Alarm: The Greenville Police assisted with an
alarm at Appleton Elementary, due to the fact that the New Ipswich
officers were at the scene of a structure fire. The alarm was caused
by a power outage and police cleared the scene.
20:30: Suspicious Vehicle: Police received a report that a
suspicious vehicle had been seen on Goen Road at 3:30 AM.
There was no description of the vehicle and, due to the length
of time that had passed, police were unable to pursue the
matter further.
20:40: 911 Haangup: Police responded to a 911 hangup
call at a residence on Asburnham Road and determined that
it was an accidental call.
21:03: Structure Fire: Police assisted the New Ipswich Fire
Department with a structure fire at Friendship Manor. The fire was
in the basement and the Greenville, Mason and Temple Police
Departments assisted the New Ipswich Police and Fire
Departments with evacuating the residents.
Tuesday 02/05/02-
Wednesday 02/06/02-
08:30: Stranded Dog: Police received a report of a dog
stuck in ice on Perry Road. The Animal Control Officer
responded and shovelled a path out to the dog. The dog
was elderly and had been left out all night, so the Animal
Control Officer assisted the owner in getting the dog inside
and advised him to get the dog warmed up and under the
care of a vet.
09:59: Residential Alarm: Police responded to a burglar
alarm on Timbertop Road. The residence was secure and
they cleared the scene.
15:55: Abandoned Behicle: Police responded to the
Bank of New Hampshire for an abandoned vehicle. The
vehicle was towed to Tuttle's.
17:00: Ambulance Assist: Police responded to Friendship
Manor to assist SVAS with woman who was having a seizure.
18:00: Dog Complaint: Police received a report of a dog
chasing people on North Road. The Animal Control Officer
spoke to the owners about the town's leash law.
Thursday 2/7/02-
01:00: Dog Complaint: Police received a report of dogs
barking on Philmart Drive. The Animal Control Officer
responded and will be fining the dog's owner for failure
to comply with the town's nuisance laws.
14:00: Stolen license plate: Police received a report
that a New Ipswich resident's license plate had been
stolen or lost some time in the past two weeks. The
owner was advised of her options.
20:50: Theft: The New Ipswich Market reported that
some of their lottery tickets had been stolen. Police will
be viewing the videotape of the incident to determine if
they can identify the suspects.
Friday 2/8/02-
01:13: Dog Complaint: Police responded to Philmart
Drive for a report of barking dogs. The owner would not
answer the door and the phone was busy.
09:02: Suspicious Person: Police responded to a
report of a suspicious person on Mill Street. They were
unable to find anyone matching the description in the area.
13:50: Found Dog: A Milford resident reported that
he had found a tan dog with no tags wandering loose near
the Ashby, MA line. The Animal Control Officer was notified
and the dog was eventually returned to its owner.
15:37: Harassing Phone Calls: Police received a report
that a Milford resident was receiving harassing calls from
a New Ipswich resident. Police advised the woman not to
contact the Milford resident again.
16:25: Harassing Phone Calls: Police received a report
that a New Ipswich resident was receiving harassing phone
calls from a Greenville resident. The Greenville resident was
advised to cease calling immediately.
18:20: Dog Complaint: The Animal Control Officer was
notified of dogs chasing people on Temple Road. He will be
following up with the owner.
19:23: Disabled MV: Police received a report of a motor
vehicle abandoned on Turnpike Road. The owner bought a
new battery and moved the car.
