Sunday 02/10/02-
12:30: Ambulance Assist: Police responded to Friendship
Manor to assist SVAS with a call.
13:15: Theft: A resident of Mountain View Drive reported
that someone had stolen his mailbox and destroyed his
neighbor's mailbox. There are no suspects.
14:40: Civil Standby: Police stood by while a woman
removed her belongings from her former residence.
22:00: Police received a report of a car off the road on
Boynton Hill Road. There were no cars in the area when
they arrived.
22:50: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Mason Police
Department with traffic control for an accident that occurred
on Route 124/Route 31 in Mason.
Monday 02/11/02-
13:30: MV Complaint: A school bus driver reported that a
black Geo Prism passed her bus when the red lights were
flashing. The vehicle belongs to Annette Hollenback, 41,
of New Ipswich.
16:59: BUsiness Alarm: Police responded to the New Ipswich
Town Office for an alarm activation.One of the town's employees
accidentally set off the alarm and did not have the correct code to
reset it. Police cleared the scene.
17:10: Disabled Motor Vehicle: Police responded to a disabled
motor vehicle on Route 124 near Windblown Ski Area. The driver
and a friend were unable to get the vehicle started, so the New
Ipswich Police Officer connected the jumper cables for them, got
the car started, and then followed them home to ensure that they
arrived safely.
22:00: Animal vs. MV: A resident of New Ipswich stated that an
owl flew into the side of his car as he was driving along Greenville
Road. The owl flew off, apparently uninjured. The vehicle's mirror
was damaged.
23:08: Criminal Mischief: A New Ipswich resident reported that
her vehicle had struck a 2 to 3 foot log on Route 124 near North
Road. Police responded and the log was removed from the road.
There was also an excessive amount of oil found at the scene and
the State Highway Department was notified to clean it up, due to
safety concerns. Anyone with any information relating to this crime
is encouraged to call the New Ipswich Police.
Tuesday 2/12/02-
10:00: Lost Dog: A resident of Green Farm Road reported that her
Lab puppy has been missing since Sunday. If anyone has seen the
puppy, please call the New Ipswich Police.
16:00: Dog Complaint: A resident of Timbertop Road reported that
a Doberman has been coming into her yard and bothering her dog.
She does not know who owns the dog. The Animal Control Officer
was notified.
16:10: Found Property: A New Ipswich resident reported that she
had found a driver's license on Wilson Hill Road. She was asked to
drop it off at the Police Station.
Wednesday 2/13/02-
09:05: Found Dog: A resident of North Road reported that she
had found a small black dog with no collar. The Animal Control
Officer was notified.
20:36: Disabled MV: Police received a report that a vehicle
was blocking the road on Dark Lane. Several attempts were
made to contact the owner, with negative results. The vehicle
was towed to Tuttle's due to safety concerns.
Thursday 2/14/02-
10:05: Residential Alarm: Police responded to a residence
on Tobey Highway for a burglar alarm. The residence was secure
and the owner was notified.
11:55: Criminal Mischief: A resident of Hakkala Drive reported
that someone had scratched the passenger side of his vehicle
while it was parked in his driveway. There are no suspects.
17:00: Dog Complaint: A resident of Turnpike Road reported
that two dogs were running loose in her backyard. The Animal
Control Officer was notified.
23:15: Assist Fire Department: Police assisted the Fire
Department at a fire alarm on Turnpike Road. It was found to be
a false alarm caused by a downdraft from the chimney.
Friday 2/15/02-
15:45: Police Information: A resident of North Road reported
that several used needles have been found along North Road in
the past week. Police recovered one needle from the woods.
16:24: Ambulance Assist: Police responded to Friendship
Manor to assist SVAS with a call.
16:50: Residential Alarm: Police responded to a burglar alarm
on Timbertop Drive. They found an unlocked door, but found no
evidence of a burglary.
18:00: Dog Complaint: A New Ipswich resident reported that dogs
are chasing her when she jogs on Temple Road. The Animal Control
Officer spoke to the dogs' owner and reminded her about the leash law.
20:00: Residential Alarm: Police responded to another burglar
alarm on Timbertop Drive. The police were unable to locate the owner.
22:30: Residential Alarm: Police responded to another burglar
alarm on Timbertop Drive. The police were still unable to locate
the owner.
Saturday 2/16/02-
00:10: DWI Arrest: Police observed on Turnpike Road driving
55 mph in a 30 mph zone. The vehicle was pulled over on Temple
Road and Nathan Lessoff, 33, of New Ipswich was subsequently
arrested for DWI.
20:55: Disturbance: Police responded to a New Ipswich
residence for a disturbance. They were assisted by the
Greenville Police.
