02/17/02 to 2/23/02-


Sunday 02/17/02-

15:45: MV Accident: Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Timbertop Road. Tyler Green, 17, of Milford lost control of a 1997 Ford Contour due to snow on the road and struck a tree. The passenger was transported to MCH for minor injuries and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

17:42: MV Off the Road: Police received a report of a vehicle off the road on Route 124 by Tricnit Road. The vehicle departed the area before police arrived.

17:50: JV Complaint: Police received a report that a woman was having difficulty dealing with her 13 year old daughter. The daughter was taken to a friend's house for the night and police will be following up on the matter.

19:30: MV Off the Road: Police responded to Highbridge for a report of a car off the road. The driver lost control of the vehicle due to snow on the road and slid off the road. The driver was not injured, and the vehicle was towed by Tuttle's.

20:39: Ambulance Assist: Police assisted SVAS with a call at a residence on Fox Farm Road.

Monday 2/18/02-

12:40: Unwanted Subject: Police responded to Hoppy's Market for a report of an unwanted subject. Doug Smith, 20, of New Ipswich was asked to leave the premises and was informed by the owner that he was no longer welcome on the property.

16:26: Assist Fire Department: Police responded to a structure fire on North Road and assisted the Fire Department with traffic control.

21:00: Business Alarm: Police responded to the New Ipswich Market for a burglar alarm. The area was secure and the owner reset the alarm.


Tuesday 2/19/02-

09:15: An officer observed that two of the school zone lights were out. He arranged to have them fixed.

19:40: Civil Standby: Police stood by at a New Ipswich residence while a man removed his belongings.


Wednesday 2/20/02-

09:50: Suspicious Person: Appleton School reported that there was a suspicious man loitering on the school premises. Police investigated and determined that the man had legitimate business in the area.

14:55: Lost Property: A New Ipswich resident reported that the rear license plate had fallen off of her husband's truck. Police advised her how to deal with the situation.

16:10: Suspicious Circumstances: Several residents of North Road have reported finding used hypodermic needles along the road. The needles have been disposed of properly and police are investigating.


Thursday 2/21/02-

08:00: Lost Dog: A resident of Wheeler Road reported that her dog had run away. The Animal Control Officer was notified.

09:35: Lost Dog: A resident of Turnpike Road reported that her dog had run away. The Animal Control Officer was notified.

10:25: Suspicious Circumstances: Several more residents of North Road reported finding needles. They were disposed of by the Police Department.

22:35: Civil Standby: Police stood by at a New Ipswich residence while a man removed his belongings.


Friday 2/22/02-

00:31: Criminal Mischief: Two mailboxes on Greenville Road were set on fire. The Greenville Police assisted the New Ipswich Police and found a candle burning along the side of the road.

05:27: MV Accident: Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 124 at Tenney Road. Nickolas Gianitsis of Derry lost control of his 1998 Ford van on a patch of ice and struck a tree. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

07:22: Criminal Mischief: Two residents of Greenville Road reported that the windows of their vehicles had been broken by an unknown object at some time during the night.

09:15: Criminal Mischief: Another resident of Greenville Road reported that the windows of their vehicle had been broken by an unknown object.

09:37: Suspicious Circumstances: A resident of North Road found six more hypodermic needles. They were disposed of properly.

11:22: Found Property: A New Ipswich resident found some property along Lower River Road and turned it in to the Police Department.

11:38: Lost Property: A New Ipswich resident reported that they had lost some property on Lower River Road. They identified the items turned in to the police and claimed them.

17:30: Animal vs. MV: The Animal Control Officer responded to Binney Hill Road to dispose of a raccoon that had been struck by a car.

21:45: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the State Police in looking for people involved in a disturbance that occurred in Sharon.


Saturday 2/23/02-

00:20: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Greenville Police with a MV Accident investigation.
