Sunday 02/24/02-
10:02: Assist Ambulance: Police responded to a residence
on Binney Hill Road to assist SVAS with a call.
10:25: Assist Ambulance: Police responded to a residence
on Appleton Road to assist SVAS with a call.
10:37: JV Complaint: A resident of New Ipswich reported
some underage drinkers on Old Wilton Road. There was no
one in the area when police arrived. The incident is under
investigation.
13:17: Assist Ambulance: Police responded to a residence
on Ashburnham Road to assist SVAS with a call.
15:35: Unwanted Subject: Police responded to a residence on
Turnpike Road to remove an unwanted subject. They were assisted
by the Greenville Police.
16:16: Shots Fired: A resident of Gibbs Avenue reported hearing
shots fired in the neighborhood.
20:05: Civil Standby: Police stood by at a New Ipswich residence
while a man removed his belongings.
Monday 2/25/02-
09:15: Citizen Assist: Police received a call from a hospital in
Boston stating that a New Ipswich resident had passed away
suddenly and that the hospital was unable to track down the
next of kin. The police were able to assist the hospital in tracking
down a family member.
11:29: Loose Horse: Police received a report that there was a
horse running down Smithville Road with a saddle on its back but
no rider. They were able to find the horse and its rider, who
had fallen off but was not seriously injured.
14:40: 911 Hangup: Police responded to a residence on Ashlawn
Farm Road for a 911 hangup. The resident stated that it was accidental
and she had been trying to dial 411.
15:50: MV Off the Road: Police found a car with minor damage on
Greenville Road. They were unable to find the owner and the vehicle
was towed.
19:07: Animal vs. MV: Police received a report that a dog had
beenstruck by a car on Main Street. The car did not stop. The owner
was given directions to the animal hospital.
Tuesday 2/26/02-
21:40: Road Hazard: Police found a large branch on Turnpike
Road near Upper School Street and removed it from the road due
to safety concerns.
23:25: Civil Matter: A New Ipswich resident reported that he was
having trouble with tenants that he is trying to evict. He was given
information on how to proceed with the eviction process.
Wednesday 2/27/02-
08:30: Suspicious Person: Wee Dreams Daycare reported a
suspicious person in the area. Police checked his identity and
determined that he was a contractor looking at a job site.
09:37: Ambulance Assist: Police assisted SVAS with a call
at a residence on Turnpike Road.
11:30: Lost Dog: A Turnpike Road resident reported that her
dog had run away. She called back later that day to report that
the dog had returned home.
14:05: MV Off the Road: Police assisted Mary Walsh, 46, of
New Ipswich, who lost control of her vehicle and slid off Ashby
Road. There was no damage to the car and she was uninjured.
15:10: MV Accident: Police responded to Turnpike Road for
an accident. Joseph Traniello, 47, of Peterborough lost control
of his Ford Explorer and slid into a ditch, causing the vehicle
to roll over. The vehicle sustained extensive damage and was
towed from the scene. There were no injuries. The Greenville
Police assisted with traffic control.
16:05: Mutual Aid: Police assisted teh Greenville Police with
a motor vehicle accident on Route 124 in Greenville.
16:20: JV Complaint: Police received a report that children were
sledding down a hill and onto Turnpike Road. Police located the
children and spoke to them about the dangers of such behavior.
19:41: Civil Standby: Police stood by at a New Ipswich residence
while a man removed his belongings.
Thursday 2/28/02-
08:55: MV Off the Road: Police received a report that there was a
vehicle off the road on Page Hill Road. Police checked the area and
determined that the vehicle did not pose a safety hazard.
10:55: Residential Alarm: Police responded to a burglar alarm on
Fox Farm Road. The house was secure and the owner notified the
Police that it had been a false alarm.
15:45: Animal Complaint: Police received a report that a wolf had
been seen on on Old Wilton Road. The Animal Control Officer was
notified and he stated that there has been a problem with large
coyotes in the area. He checked the area and was unable to find
any animals.
16:05: Found Dog: A New Ipswich resident found a dog running
down Turnpike Road and turned it in to the Police. The dog had a
GPS locator collar on, and the owner came to claim him several
minutes later. The dogs were part of a group that was hunting for
coyotes in the area.
16:50: Suspicious Circumstances: Police received a report that
more needles had been found on North Road. They were picked
up and disposed of properly.
22:25: JV Complaint: Police responded to a New Ipswich residence
to assist a woman who was having trouble dealing with her unruly
teenage daughter.
23:08: Suspicious Person: Police received a report of a possible
prowler at a residencein New Ipswich. They checked the area and
found no sign of anyone. A cat was observed in the yard and the
resident was informed that the noise may have been caused by
the animal.
Friday 3/1/02-
09:25: Harassing Phone Calls: A New Ipswich resident informed
Police that she has been receiving harassing phone calls. She was
referred to the phone company for assistance in tracking the calls, as
they came from a private number.
09:58: Landlord/Tenant Dispute: Police responded to Turnpike Road
to deal with a dispute. This is an ongoing situation that is being
resolved in court.
16:15: Suspicious Circumstances: Police received a report that
more needles had been found on North Road. They were picked
up and disposed of properly.
Saturday 3/2/02-
00:35: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Greenville and Mason
Police with a foot pursuit in Greenville.
08:25: Ambulance Assist: Police assisted SVAs with a call
at a residence on Highbridge Road.
12:47: Civil Standby: Police stood by at a New Ipswich residence
while a man removed his belongings.
13:03: Landlord/Tenant Dispute: Police responded to Turnpike Road
to deal with a dispute.
14:29: Landlord/Tenant Dispute: Police responded to Turnpike Road
to deal with a dispute.
15:30: Suspicious Circumstances: Police received a report that
more needles had been found on North Road. They were picked
up and disposed of properly.
17:03: OHRV Complaint: Police observed an OHRV driving
recklessly on Turnpike Road. The vehicle drove into the woods
and police were unable to find the driver.
18:47: Assist Fire Department: Police responded to Ashby
Road for a fire. The fire was an authorized burn and all units
cleared the scene.
19:50: Police observed a fire in a field on Ashby Road.
The Fire Department responded and put out the fire.
