Sunday 03/10/02-
12:12: Suspicious Person: A resident of Turnpike Road
reported that she was followed home by a man driving a car
with Massachusetts license plates. Police are looking into
the matter.
Monday 03/11/02-
09:40: Dog vs. MV: Police received a report that a dump
truck had struck a dog on Poor Farm Road. On arrival, the
operator stated that the dog had run out in front of his vehicle
and he had been unable to stop. The animal was killed instantly.
16:06: Criminal Mischief: A resident of Wheeler Road
reported that their mailbox was destroyed by an unknown
individual sometime during the night.
19:23: Assist Fire Department: Police assisted with
traffic control at a chimney fire on Stowell Road.
21:40: Open Window: Police observed an open window
at Mascenic High School and notified the maintenance
department of the issue.
Tuesday 3/12/02-
08:00: School Zone Lights Out: Police notified the school
that the school zone warning lights were still out of order.
09:30: Lost Cat: A resident of Page Hill Road reported that
her brown and black male cat was missing. The Animal
Control Officer was notified.
12:40: MV Complaint: A New Ipswich resident reported that
there were eight unregistered cars in a driveway on Ashby Road,
in violation of an ordinance. Police checked the area and found
no sign of that many unregistered cars.
12:45: Disabled MV: Police observed a car parked in the
roadway on River Road. The owner was contacted and moved
the vehicle.
14:30: School Bus Passing: Police received a report that a
red truck had passed eight school busses with their lights on,
who were loading passengers in the school lot. The complainant
also stated that the person was driving much too fast. The vehicle
belongs to Deborah Desantis, 43, of New Ipswich and a warning
letter was sent.
16:45: JV Complaint: Police observed an eight year old boy
operating an OHRV. Police spoke to the father of the boy about
OHRV laws, as well as safety concerns.
Wednesday 3/13/02-
17:57: OHRV Complaint: Police received a report that there
were several OHRV's at the dam site along Thayer Road shooting
a shotgun. Police found fresh tracks but the OHRVs were gone on
arrival.
19:51: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Greenville Police with
a Civil Standby in Greenville.
Thursday 3/14/02-
Friday 3/15/02-
11:38: Suspicious Person: Village Mobil reported that a
suspicious person had attempted to cash an out of state
check at several local businesses. Police did not see anyone
in the area matching the description.
14:35: Neighbor Dispute: Police responded to a New
Ipswich residence to resolve a dispute between neighbors
over OHRVs and property boundaries. They were advised
to call the police if there were any further problems.
15:56: Dog Complaint: Police received a report that
there was a loose dog on Temple Road. This is an ongoing
issue.
16:25: Landlord/Tenant Dispute: Police responded to a
Turnpike Road residence for an ongoing dispute. The tenant
is moving out and the situation will be resolved at that time.
17:20: OHRV Complaint: Police received a report that
there were OHRVs in the conservation area near the dam.
NH Fish and Game was contacted for assistance in patrolling
the area.
Saturday 3/16/02-
09:03: Criminal Mischief: A resident of Appleton Road
reported that the passenger side window in her car had been
broken by an unknown person sometime during the night.
14:03: Criminal Threatening: Police investigated a report
of possible criminal threatening at Central School
involving a parent and a school employee. The matter was
determined to be a misunderstanding.
17:00: MV Complaint: Police received a report of a vehicle
driving recklessly on Gibbs Avenue. The vehicle was gone
on arrival.
17:06: Theft: Police received a report that a flag had been
stolen from a residence on Appleton Road. Police were unable
to take a report due to the fact that the caller did not want to
wait for the police to arrive.
19:07: Assist Fire Department: Police responded to an
unattended fire in the woods along Page Hill Road. They
found two piles of brush burning and determined that the
resident had a permit.
20:38: Shoplifting: Police received a report of shoplifting
at the New Ipswich Market. The incident is under investigation.
23:45: Disorderly Conduct: Police received a report that
there were people in the dirt lot across from the Fire Station
who were shining spotlights at passing cars. When police arrived,
there were no spotlights apparent and all subjects denied
knowledge of the incident.
