04/14/02 to 04/20/02-


Sunday 04/14/02-

0022: Arrest: Police observed a truck drive onto Route 124 from the lot in the center of town, stop in the middle of the road and then spin 180 degrees. Police subsequently charged Mitchell Beausoleil, 20, of New Ipswich with Reckless Operation and Unsafe Tires. The Greenville and Mason Police responded to assist, due to the large number of people in the lot, who became belligerent. The owner of the property responded and the area was cleared.

0040: Arrest: A New Ipswich resident reported that he had observed a white Isuzu Trooper driving erratically on Route 124. Police subsequently arrested Richard Riley, 48, of Shirley, MA for DWI. Mr Riley had blood all over his hands and face. He also had two black eyes, and bruises in several places on his head. He stated that he been involved in an altercation with his brother, but did not want to press charges. Due to his condition, Mr. Riley was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital for evaluation and treatment. Greenville and Mason Police assisted.

0105: Tire Fire: Mason Police assisted with a tire fire on Turnpike Road by North Road. The fire, which was put out by the New Ipswich Fire Department, caused severe damage to the road and the State Highway Department was advised.

1048: MV Complaint: A New Ipswich resident reported that she had been walking on Temple Road when a vehicle passed her at a high rate of speed. Police spoke to the driver about the incident.

1358: Shots Fired: A New Ipswich resident reported that one of his neighbors was shooting weapons and he didn't like the noise. He was advised of the town noise ordinance and informed that the neighbors were not breaking any laws.

1410: MV Accident: Kyle Matthews, 16, of Temple was driving on Thayer Road when he overshot a stop sign. He backed up and bumped into a motorcycle driven by Scott Lashua of Nashua. There was no visible damage to either vehicle.

1703: OHRV Complaint: Police responded to Stowell Road and dealt with an OHRV complaint.

2310: Criminal Mischief: A resident of Malthouse Road reported that a dark colored truck hit his mailbox and then ran over it. Police are investigating.

Monday 04/15/02-

0846: Criminal Mischief: Another resident of Malthouse Road reported that their mailbox had been damaged. Police are investigating.

0925: Domestic Dispute: Police spoke to a New Ipswich resident about ongoing problems with his daughter's boyfriend. The resident stated that the boyfriend is no longer welcome on his property.

1119: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report from a Wheeler Road resident that the post for his mailbox had been damaged. His mailbox was destroyed the previous week.

1230: Tree Down: Police received a report that a large limb had broken off a tree on Ashburnham Road. They investigated and determined that the limb could fall onto power lines at any time. PSNH was notified.

1253: Business Alarm: Police responded to the Community Christian Church on Main Street for a burglar alarm. The alarm was set off accidentally by one of the parishioners.

1430: Found Property: A New Ipswich resident found a bicycle by the river and informed police of the description.

1530: Shots Fired: A New Ipswich resident reported sounds of shooting in the area of Binney Hill Road and Page Hill Road. Police checked the area and did not see or hear any shooters.

1530: OHRV Complaint: A Page Hill Road resident reported that there were OHRVs driving up and down Page Hill Road. They were gone on arrival and police cleared the area.

1650: Criminal Mischief: A Wheeler Road resident reported that someone had shot paintballs at her house the night before.

1713: Criminal Mischief: A Wheeler Road resident reported that his mailbox had been destroyed the night before.


Tuesday 04/16/02-

1600: Ambulance Assist: Police responded to a residence on Wilson Hill Road to assist SVAS with a woman who was having difficulty breathing.

1921: MV Lockout: Police assisted a New Ipswich resident who had locked the keys in his car at the playground.


Wednesday 04/17/02-

0216: Noise Complaint: Police received a report that there were people yelling and screaming in the Conservation Area on Binney Hill Road. All parties were gone on arrival.

Assist Fire Department: Police responded to a residence on Main Street for a fire alarm. The caller stated that he heard an alarm coming from one of the houses in the neighborhood. It was determined to be a false alarm.

Residential Alarm: Police responded to a residence on Perry Road for a burglar alarm. The residence was secure and police cleared the scene.

1250: MV Complaint: Police received a report that a white van was driving erratically on Route 124. The van was not found and the plate number given to police was not on file.

1645: MV Complaint: A resident of Willard Road reported that someone had hit her dog with their car. They also reported that people are still driving too fast on the road and she is concerned about the safety of the children in the neighborhood. She was informed that police would be conducting more frequent patrols of the area.


Thursday 04/18/02-

1310: Theft: Friendship Manor reported the theft of three checks. Police are investigating.

1315: Theft: Friendship Manor reported that a diamond ring had been lost or stolen sometime over the past few months. Police are investigating.

1535: Citizen Assist: Police responded to a residence on Keurulainen Road and spoke to a resident who stated that his relative had fallen, but did not want medical treatment.

1727: JV Complaint: Police received a report that three juveniles had jumped the fence at the town pool and were walking on the pool cover. Police responded and determined that there was no property damage. The youths were given a warning.

2010: Citizen Assist: Police spoke to a New Ipswich resident about options for dealing with her unruly teenage daughter.


Friday 04/19/02-

1020: Neighbor Dispute: Police were informed about a dispute between two residents. It is an ongoing problem and police are aware of the matter.

1158: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to a residence on Boynton Hill Road for a 911 Hang Up call. The resident stated that it was accidental. Police observed no problems and subsequently cleared the scene.

Check the Welfare: Police were asked to check the welfare of a New Ipswich resident. They determiend that she took a large quantity of pills to help her sleep. SVAS was called and the woman was transported to Monadnock Hospital for treatment.

1814: Fire: Police observed smoke coming from the woods on Binney Hill near the pond. It was determined that it was from a small campfire. The fire was put out by the New Ipswich Fire Department.


Saturday 04/20/02-

0747: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that a mailbox had been destroyed by an unknown person on Page Hill Road.

0948: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that a mailbox had been destroyed by an unknown person on Ashby Road.

1330: Assist Fire Department: Police assisted the fire department with a water leak that shorted some wires at a church on Temple Road.

1453: Criminal Mischief: Police were informed that there was a small hole in one of the windows at the Bank of New Hampshire. The manager was notified of the problem.

1800: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to Thayer Road for a 911 Hang Up. The resident stated that it was accidental. Police observed no problems and subsequenly cleared the scene.
