Police Log Week Ending 05/25/2002
This log represents a sampling of the activity of the
New Ipswich Police Department, but is not a
complete listing of all activity during the week.
05/19/02 to 05/25/02-
Sunday 05/19/02-
1148: MV Complaint: A resident of Goen Road reported
ongoing problems with motor vehicles in the area. He
was advised that Police would patrol the area more
frequently.
1410: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Temple Police
with an OHRV pursuit on Boynton Hill Road. The area
was checked with negative contact.
1647: Neighbor Dispute: Police responded to Malthouse
Road for a neighbor dispute involving a dog that has been
allowed to run loose and cause people to feel unsafe. The
owner of the dog was fined for violating the town's leash
law.
1723: Ambulance Assist: Police responded to the New
Ipswich Playground to assist SVAS with a medical call.
1739: Shots Fired: Police received a report of shots
fired in the vicinity of Gibbs Avenue and Turnpike Road.
This is an ongoing problem and the people shooting
have not been found to be in violation of any laws or
town ordinances.
1840: Ambulance Assist: Police assisted SVAS with
a medical call on Turnpike Road.
2114: Alarm: Police responded to Mascenic High
School for a burglar alarm. They checked the school
and found it to be secure.
Monday 05/20/02-
1550: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a resident of
North Road with a VIN verification for a car he had just
purchased.
1844: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a resident of
Page Hill Road with a VIN verification for a vehicle he
had just purchased.
2215: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to a residence
on Binney Hill Road for a 911 Hang Up. The resident
stated that a neighbor's dog had been stuck in a drain,
but they had been able to free it.
Tuesday 05/21/02-
1745: Harassment: Police received a report that a
Sharon resident had been followed by an unidentified
man on a motorcycle, who was yelling obscenities at
her while she was driving down Route 124. She did not
have a description of the man or a plate number for
the motorcycle.
2350: Ambulance Assist: Police assisted SVAS with
a medical call at a residence on Blueberry Lane.
Wednesday 05/22/02-
1112: Alarm: Police responded to a burglar alarm on
Whittemore Hill Road. The area was secure and Police
cleared the scene.
1700: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that
an unknown person had launched a bottle rocket at a New
Ipswich resident's car. There were no injuries or damage.
1749: MV Stop: Police stopped Elina Nykanen, 17, of
New Ipswich on Route 124 and issued a Written Warning
for Speeding.
1754: MV Stop: Police stopped Kerri Bertram, 29, of
New Ipswich on Route 124 and issued a Written Warning
for Speeding.
1800: MV Stop: Police stopped Wiley Billings, 37, of
Greenville on Route 124 and issued a Written Warning
for Speeding.
2230: MV Stop: Police stopped Shawn Alix, 21, of
Greenville on Turnpike Road and issued a Written
Warning for Defective Equipment: Tail Light.
Thursday 05/23/02-
1725: Vehicle Fire: Police responded to a vehicle fire
on Route 124 by Windblown. The vehicle, owned by Jonathan
Sisco of Peterborough, was towed from the scene. There were
no injuries.
Friday 05/24/02-
0707: Alarm: Police responded to a residence on Poor
Farm Road for a burglar alarm. The residence was secure
and Police cleared the scene.
1216: MV Complaint: Police received a report that a
Yield sign at Old Country Road and River Road had been
taken. The resident also reported ongoing problems with
motor vehicles speeding on River Road.
1405: Suspicious MV: Police received a report of a
suspicious motor vehicle on Greenville Road by the
cemetary. The vehicle was gone on arrival.
2120: Suspicious MV: Police received a report that
a car had stopped in a New Ipswich resident's driveway.
After investigation, it was determined that the owner of
the car was checking the fender for damage.
2245: MV Complaint: Police received a report that
a vehicle was operating erratically on River Road. Police
checked the area with negative contact.
2245: Fire: Police responded to a brush fire by Hubbard
Pond. They found signs of a camp fire and several loose
beer bottles, but no sign of anyone in the area. The fire
was put out and Police cleared the scene.
Saturday 05/25/02-
0130: Noise Complaint: Police received a complaint
about loud noise on Hubbard Pond Road. They spoke to a
resident and asked him to keep the noise down, as his
neighbors were complaining.
0230: MV Accident: Roland Desrosiers, 20, of New
Ipswich fell asleep at the wheel of his Ford F-150
and drove over an embankment on Tote Road. There were
no injuries, but the vehicle was towed from the scene.
1058: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report
that an unknown person had driven over a mailbox on
Hubbard Pond Road and destroyed it.
1241: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report
that an unknown person had driven over a mailbox on
Windy Hill Road and destroyed it.
1325: Citizen Assist: Police were notified that
a road sign on Joy Lane had fallen. The Highway
Department was notified.
1514: JV Complaint: Police responded to a residence
on Cutter Road to assist with an unruly juvenile. The
JV was transferred to Monadnock Community Hospital
by SVAS for evaluation.
2200: Suspicious Activity: Police responded to the
inersection of Main Street and Ashby Road to
investigate a report of an unidentified subject loading
wood into the back of a vehicle. The owner of Thayer
Wood Products was notified of the incident.
2256: MV Complaint: Police received a report of a
vehicle tailgating a Jaffrey resident along Route 124
from Jaffrey to New Ipswich. Police spoke to the drivers
of both vehicles involved and resolved the situation.
