complete listing of all activity during the week.




06/09/02 to 06/15/02-


Sunday 06/09/02-

0015: MV Stop: Police stopped John Bartlett, 38, of Peterborough on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1256: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that a mailbox on Mountain View Drive had been blown apart by an unknown object. No one was observed in the area at the time of the explosion.

1543: MV Complaint: Police received a complaint about a black truck that was following a New Ipswich resident on Route 124. The truck was gone on arrival and the complainant did not get a plate number from the vehicle.

1616: OHRV Complaint: Police received a report that there were four OHRVs on Stowell Road. The vehicles were gone on arrival.

2125: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that a mailbox on Stowell Road had been destroyed by an unknown person.

2105: MV Stop: Police stopped Christopher Robinson, 30, of New Ipswich on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

2140: MV Stop: Police stopped Stephen Henault, 21, of New Ipswich on Temple Road and issued a Written Warning for a Stop Sign violation.

2220: Mv Stop: Police stopped Anthony Quinn, 19, of Temple on Nashua Road and issued a Written Warning for Defective Equipment: Head Lights and Exhaust.

2235: MV Stop: Police stopped Robert Huard, 45, of Rindge on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Defective Equipment: Tail Light and Exhaust.

2240: Alarm: Police responded to a burglar alarm at a residence on Main Street. The building was secure, but a bat was flying around, setting off the motion detectors. The Animal Control Officer was notified.

2340: MV Stop: Police stopped Joan Sullivan, 43, of Brighton, MA on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

Monday 06/10/02-

0045: Mutual Aid: Police were asked by the State Police to respond to Temple to assist a motorist whose car had caught on fire. The Temple Fire Department extinguished the fire and the Police stayed with the driver until a tow truck arrived.

1130: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that another mailbox on Timbertop Road had been burned by a firecracker. The mail inside the box was damaged.

1636: MV Complaint: Police received a report that work trucks were blocking traffic on Laurel Street. Police spoke to the work crew and they agreed to keep out of the road.


Tuesday 06/11/02-

0935: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that a resident of Ashburnham Road found the back window of his car broken by an unknown object. He did not observe anyone suspicious in the area.

1310: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that on Sunday 6/9/02 an unknown person shot several BBs into the side door of a residence on Gibbs Avenue. He did not observe the incident and did not report it when it occurred.


Wednesday 06/12/02-

1100: Citizen Assist: A construction worker reported that he had locked his keys in his car, which was parked near the Police Station. Police gained access to the vehicle and brought the keys the the owner, who was working near the New Ipswich Market.

1325: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a Mason resident with fingerprints for school employment.

1400: Citizen Assist: Police were informed by a New Ipswich resident that ex-boyfriend, a Greenville resident, would not stop calling and visiting her. She did not feel threatened, but wanted the behavior to stop. Police spoke to the man and informed him that he needed to have no more contact with the woman.

1430: Citizen Assist: A New Ipswich resident asked for information regarding unregistered vehicles. He was informed that he would be in violation of NH law if he had two or more unregistered vehicles in his yard.

1502: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to a house on Philmart Drive. One of the residents stated that she saw wolves (or possibly coyotes or dogs) fighting in her yard and had called the Police. Police did not observe any animals in the area.

2149: MV Accident: Police received a report of vehicles driving recklessly on Turnpike Road. Just before Police arrived on scene, the vehicles were involved in an accident near Timbertop Road. The first vehicle, driven by Kit Somero, 21, of New Ipswich pulled over to the side of the road and attempted to make a U-turn. The driver of the second vehicle, Joe Vlahos, 18, of Greenville struck the first vehicle on the driver's side as the vehicle was turning. The second vehicle was also occupied by Justin Desrosiers, 20, of New Ipswich as well as a minor from Greenville. The driver of the first vehicle was unconscious and convulsing at the scene. All parties were transported to Monadnock Community Hospital and were later released with minor injuries. Both vehicles were totalled. An investigation is being conducted by the New Ipswich Polcie with the assistance of the State Police and charges are expected to be filed.


Thursday 6/13/02-

1435: Criminal Mischief: A New Ipswich resident was driving down Town Hill when an occupant of a school bus threw eggs out the window and onto her vehicle. Police are investigating the incident.


Friday 6/14/02-

1122: OHRV Complaint: Police received a complaint about a trail bike operating recklessly on Appleton Road. The area was checked with negative contact.

1456: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to a house on Ashby Road for a 911 Hang Up. The resident stated that it was accidental. Police cleared the scene without incident.


Saturday 6/15/02-

0750: Alarm: Police responded to Appleton School to investigate a Burglar Alarm. All doors were secure and no one was observed in the area.

1118: Alarm: Police responded to the Community Church on Main Street for a Burglar Alarm. The pastor at the church stated that it was accidental, due to the installation of a new system.

1314: Arrest: Police received a report that a Jaffrey resident had violated a Stalking Order that had been served to him. The New Ipswich and Jaffrey Police Departments conducted an investigation and subsequently arrested Robert Duval, 29, of Jaffrey for Violation of a Protective Order, Harassment, and Breach of Bail Conditions. He was transported to Valley Street Jail without incident.

1630: Assist Ambulance: Police assisted SVAS with a medical call at a residence on Main Street.

2054: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that the soda machine outside of the New Ipswich Fire Department was on fire. The blaze was extinguished by the Fire Department. An investigation is being conducted by the State Fire Marshall with the assistance of the New Ipswich Police and Fire Departments. The machine was removed to be examined as evidence and will not be replaced. Two unidentified individuals were seen running from the Fire Station and into the lot across the street from the Fire Station. The lot was occupied by a large number of people and was cleared out at the direction of the Chief of Police and the property owner. Traffic cones were placed at the entrance to close off the lot.

2328: Criminal Mischief: Two residents of Ashby Road reported that their mailboxes had been vandalized by an unknown individual with traffic cones. They did not observe the incident. Police received a report at 0210 the next morning that a mailbox on Goen Road had been damaged in the same manner. Police retrieved all of the cones and returned them to their owner, who had placed them outside the lot in the center of town.
