complete listing of all activity during the week.
06/16/02 to 06/22/02-
Sunday 06/16/02-
0210: Criminal Mischief: A New Ipswich resident came to the Police Station and brought several traffic cones that had been used to damage mailboxes on Goen Road. The cones will be returned to their owner.
1221: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that a Snapple bottle was thrown through the window of a rental car on Ashby Road. There are no suspects, as the person had just moved into the house.
1225: Police Information: Police observed 15 to 20 cars parked in the KSL Realty lot on Route 124. The other lot in the center of town had been closed for the weekend and the people in the vehicles were looking for somewhere else to park. The owner of the lot stated that they did not have permission to be there and the lot was cleared.
1238: MV Accident, Arrest: A resident of Appleton Road reported that they observed a vehicle speeding down Appleton Road and then heard a crash. The vehicle, driven by Gloria Foster, 41, of New Ipswich rolled onto its right side and the driver had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was subsequently arrested for DWI and given a ride home after she posted bail.
1805: Criminal Threatening: A New Ipswich resident reported that he had been threatened by a Greenville resident. No assault occurred and the man was informed what his options were. He decided not to press charges at that time.
Monday 06/17/02-
0850: Criminal Mischief: A resident of Mill Street reported that someone cut the brake lines and slashed the tires on his two vehicles. Police also determined that a spigot on an oil tank in the basement was also damaged, causing the room to be flooded with over 100 gallons of fuel oil. The oil was drained out of the basement through a sump pump, into the stream behind the building. Most of the oil ended up in the Souhegan River in Greenville. The cost of the cleanup is expected to be in the six figure range, but Police have not received a total. A three month old child was transported to the hospital due to a reaction to the fumes. The child was treated and released. Police have a suspect and charges are forthcoming.
1115: Shots Fired: Police received several reports of someone shooting in the Nussdorfer Nature Area (Little AZ). The person was gone on arrival.
1209: Ambulance Assist: Police received a report that a boy had fallen off his bicycle just outside the Town Office. SVAS was notified and Police rendered first aid until the EMTs arrived. The boy was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital, treated and released.
1215: A New Ipswich resident reported that a vehicle passed her and several other cars on a double yellow line on Route 124. Police spoke to the owner of the vehicle about the incident.
Tuesday 06/18/02-
0837: MV Stop: Police stopped Richard Barbieri, 34, of Leominster, MA on Appleton Road and issued a Written Warning for Speeding.
0901: MV Stop: Police stopped William Watson, 20, of Wilton, NH on Route 124 and issued a Written Warning for Speeding.
0930: MV Stop: Police stopped William Simonton, 64, of Jaffrey on Route 124 and issued a Written Warning for Speeding.
1310: Police Information: Police assisted the Hollis Police in tracking down a New Ipswich resident.
1830: Littering: Police received a report that an older model Dodge pickup drives by Poor Farm Road every day between 6 and 9 PM and throws beer cans out the window. The registration number given to Police was not in the system, but Police will be keeping an eye out in the area.
1650: Alarm: Police received a report of a Burglar Alarm at a residence on Poor Farm Road. The area was checked and police cleared the scene.
1933: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to a residence on Turnpike Road for a 911 Hang Up. The owner stated that it was accidental and Police cleared the scene.
1938: OHRV Complaint: Police received a report of OHRVs operating on Thayer Road near the pond. The vehicles were gone on arrival.
Wednesday 06/19/02-
1000: MV Stop: Police stopped Doris Sherburne, 65, of New Ipswich on Route 124 and issued a Written Warning for Speeding.
1029: MV Stop: Police stopped Alberta Erickson, 62, of Groton, MA on Route 124 and issued a Written Warning for Speeding.
1900: MV Stop: Police stopped Heidi Bolles, 18, of New Ipswich on Temple Road and issued a Written Warning for Speeding.
2050: Criminal Mischief: Police were informed of broken windows at a vacant house on Stowell Road. Two unidentified girls on OHRVs were seen leaving the scene.
2210: Suspicious Person: Police received a report of a suspicious person, wearing dark clothing, walking down Willard Road. The juvenile was walking home and Police gave her a ride, due to safety concerns.
2200: MV Stop: Police stopped Mikko Salokangas, 22, of Shirley, MA on Temple Road and issued a Written Warning for Defective Equipment: Head Light.
Thursday 06/20/02-
0130: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that an unknown person had smashed numerous mailboxes between 189 and 246 Page Hill Road. The suspects were gone on arrival.
1030: Suspicious MV: Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on Stowell Road. The vehicle was gone on arrival.
1105: MV Stop: Police stopped John Bredberg, 34, of Rindge on Ashby Road and issued a Written Warning for Speeding.
1115: MV Stop: Police stopped Casey Gibson, 22, of New Ipswich on Ashby Road and issued a Written Warning for Speeding.
1145: Abandoned MV: Police were informed that a van belonging to a New Ipswich resident broke down on Highbridge Road. She took the plates off it so that she could register another vehicle. She was informed that the vehicle had to be moved before dark.
1350: Animal Complaint: A Perry Road resident reported that there were two oxen on her property, scaring her sheep. Police called the owners and the oxen were returned to their field.
1536: Ambulance Assist: Police assisted SVAS with a medical call at a residence on Ashby Road.
1603: Alarm: Police responded to Boynton Middle School for a Burglar Alarm. They found one door unlocked, but the area was clear. The door was secured and Police cleared the scene.
Friday 06/21/02-
0054: Suspicious Person: Police received a report that a person was seen prowling in the back yard of a residence on Pratt Pond. The person left the area in a vehicle and was gone before Police arrived.
0139: MV Complaint: Police received a report of two vehicles driving recklessly on Route 124 by the NeWest Mall. The vehicles were gone on arrival.
0920: Ambulance Assist: Police assisted SVAS with a medical call at a residence on Temple Road.
1012: MV Complaint: Police received a report that several vehicles and a boat parked at the intersection of Timbertop Road and Route 124 were preventing drivers from seeing oncoming traffic. The owner of the boat agreed to move it back.
1017: Ambulance Assist: Police assisted SVAS with a medical call at a residence on Greenville Road.
1022: Alarm: Police responded to a Burglar Alarm at the ambulance bay, which was caused by employees responding to a call.
1228: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to a residence on Temple Road for a 911 Hang Up. Police spoke to the owner and he stated that it was accidental.
1418: OHRV Complaint: Police responded to Old Country Road for an OHRV complaint. They were gone on arrival.
1850: MV Complaint: Residents of Highbridge Road reported that a van that had been abandoned Thursday morning was still there. Police had it towed from the scene, as the owner had been informed she had to remove it before Thursday night.
2010: Citizen Assist: Police responded to Hubbard Pond Road to assist an OHRV operator who had run off the road. There were no injuries and Police cleared the scene.
2207: Domestic Dispute: Police received a report of a loud argument at a residence on Turnpike Road. Both parties stated that they were under a lot of stress and had started to argue as a result. There was no physical altercation and Police cleared the scene after ensuring that the residents were calmed down.
Saturday 06/22/02-
0115: MV Complaint: Police received a report of a car and a motorcycle racing down Town Hill at a high rate of speed. The vehicles were gone on arrival.
0135: Ambulance Assist: Police responded to a medical call at a residence on Academy Road. A person who was having chest pains refused to be transported in an ambulance and left the scene in a private car prior to the arrival of Police.
0825: Alarm: Police responded to Pizza Haven for a Burglar Alarm. They determined that it was caused by a delivery person who forgot the alarm code.
1018 OHRV Complaint: Police responded to an OHRV Complaint on Appleton Road. They patrolled the area for half an hour with negative contact.
1136: OHRV Complaint: Police responded to another OHRV Complaint on Appleton Road. They spoke to the drivers of two OHRVs, who were on private property, and informed them that they must stay off the road.
1730: OHRV Complaint: Police responded to an OHRV Complaint on Cedar Ridge. A resident stated that six to eight OHRVs were racing up and down the road. The vehicles were gone on arrival.
1919: Harassment: A New Ipswich resident reported that he was receiving harassing phone calls. The phone company put a trace on his line and Police are awaiting the results.
