06/30/02 to 07/06/02-


Sunday 06/30/02-

0828: Criminal Mischief: Police observed that the top rail of the gate at the playground had been broken by an unknown person.

0915: Theft: Police received a report that a car stereo, CDs, a wedding band and some change was stolen from a vehicle that was parked at the playground the previous night between 9:30 PM and 1:30 AM.

0921: Alarm: Police responded to a Burglar alarm at Wee Dreams. They determined that it was a false alarm.

1338: Alarm: Police responded to a Burglar alarm at a residence on Perry Road. The alarm was caused by a neighbor who was taking care of the family's dog.

1852: MV Accident: Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on River Road. The driver Herbert Brown, 41, of New Ipswich lost control of his 1991 Jaguar while swatting a bee, and struck a tree. The vehicle was totalled and the driver and his juvenile passenger were transported to Monadnock Community Hospital.

2030: MV Stop: Police stopped Susan Jones, 45, of Fitchburg, MA on Turnpike Road and issued a MV Summons for Speed: 51 mph in a 30 mph zone.

2125: MV Stop: Police stopped Jason Starr, 21, of Mason on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

2210: MV Stop: Police stopped Thomas McGregor, 54, of Cambridge, MA on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

2220: MV Stop: Police stopped Gregory Hupp, 20, of New Ipswich on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Defective Equipment: Head Light.

2300: MV Stop: Police stopped Stacy Barclay, 20, of New Ipswich on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

Monday 07/01/02-

1210: Found Property: A New Ipswich resident turned in a skateboard that he found at the playground.

1730: Domestic Dispute: A New Ipswich resident entered the Police Station and reported that she wanted an Emergency Protective Order against her husband. The order was granted and served to the husband.


Tuesday 07/02/02-

0951: MV Stop: Police stopped Hazel Cotzin, 64, of New Ipswich on Route 124 and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1135: MV Stop: Police stopped Eileen Wheeler, 39, of Greenville on Highbridge Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1140: MV Stop: Police stopped Sara Scepkowski, 18, of New Ipswich on Highbridge Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1310: Animal Complaint: Police received a report that a Pitbull was running loose on Malthouse Road. Police contacted the owners and explained the town's leash law.

1537: Found Property: A vehicle that was reported stolen on June 10, 2002 was found abandoned in Greenville. Police notified the owner.

1620: Civil Standby: Police stood by at a residence on Temple Road so that a former resident could retrieve her property.

1832: Criminal Mischief: A fence on Locke Road was damaged, allowing cows to escape. The owner was contacted and the cows were returned to their pasture.


Wednesday 07/03/02-

1618: MV Stop: Police stopped William Watkinson, 16, of New Ipswich on Goen Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1730: Arrest: Police received a report of a motorcycle operating erratically on Turnpike Road. Police subsequently arrested Jason Dysart, 25, of New Ipswich for DWI.

1934: MV Stop: Police stopped Teresa Poliquin, 27, of New Ipswich on Route 124 and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

2040: MV Stop: Police stopped Inga Nuccio, 43, of Groton, MA on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

2145: Noise Compaint: Police received a complaint about noise from fireworks on Wheeler Road. The owner of the house was asked to quiet down and Police cleared the scene.

2155: MV Stop: Police stopped Jack Seppala, 19, of Rindge on Wheeler Road and issued a MV Summons for Speed: 50 mph in a 30 mph zone.

2320: MV Stop: Police stopped Mary Vallavanti, 35, of Greenville on Senator Tobey Highway and issued a Written Warning for Speed.


Thursday 07/04/02-

0949: MV Stop: Police stopped Maria Candido, 43, of Malden, MA on Route 124 and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1023: MV Stop: Police stopped William Malmquist, 76, of Shrewsbury, MA on Route 124 and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1340: Arrest: Police received a report of a motorist in need of assistance on Poor Farm Road. They subsequently arrested Gilberto Mendoza Alvardo, 27, of New Ipswich and charged him with DWI, Operating Without A License, Unregistered/Uninspected Motor Vehicle, Misuse of Plates and Speed. During their investigation, they also determined that Mr. Alvardo was an illegal alien. An agent from INS was contacted and informed that Mr. Alvardo would be transported to Valley Street Jail and arraigned on July 9, 2002.

1940: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that a lock on a gate on Old Country Road had been cut by an unknown person.


Friday 07/05/02-

0102: Mutual Aid: Police stopped a white Mustang at the request of the Ashby, MA Police and relayed information on the driver, who will be charged in Ashby with Speed, Reckless Operation, and Disobeying a Police Officer.

1605: Harassment: A New Ipswich resident reported that her ex-boyfriend has been calling her repeatedly. Police are looking into the matter.

1626: Arrest: Police arrested Lysander Coates, 26, of Atkinson, NH for Simple Assault and Criminal Mischief. Coates was later found to be a deserter from the US Army and was arrested by the Nashua Police Department and transported to Valley Street Jail.

2042: Citizen Assist: Police were asked to check the welfare of a New Ipswich resident, who was not answering the phone. Police spoke to the resident and she stated that she was fine.

2100: Found Property: A New Ipswich resident turned in a bicycle that she found abandoned on Main Street.


Saturday 07/06/02-

1330: MV Stop: Police stopped Joseph Morin, 34, of Dedham, MA on Route 124 and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1350: Tree Down: Police received a report of a tree down on Route 124 by Old Country Road. The tree was blocking both lanes of traffic and had damaged the electric and phone lines. The road was closed, with the assistance of the Greenville Police, until the area was clear. It was not opened back up until three hours later, due to the fact that the State Highway Department could find no one to respond.

1650: Citizen Assist:Police were contacted by a New Ipswich resident, who reported that his son had been assaulted in Maine. He was advised to contact the police department in the town in which the assault occurred. New Ipswich Police are assisting the Old Orchard Beach Police with the investigation.

1935: Mutual Aid: New Ipswich Police responded to Temple to assist the ambulance crew with a combative Alzheimer's patient, due to the fact that the State Police would not respond.

2341: Ambulance Assist: Police assisted SVAS with a medical call on Turnpike Road.
