complete listing of all activity during the week.




07/28/02 to 08/03/02-


Sunday 07/28/02-

0950: MV Stop: Police stopped Michael Juranty, 40, of Allenstown, NH on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speeding.

1400: MV Stop: Police stopped Creighton Seppala, 16, of Rindge on Ashby Road and issued a summons for Speeding: 55 mph in a 35 mph zone.

1613: Alarm: Police responded to the Community Church on Main Street for a Burglar Alarm. They spoke to the pastor, who stated that it was accidental.

1846: MV Complaint: Police received a report of a green motorcycle racing up and down Temple and Turnpike Roads. Police are familiar with the owner and will be contacting him.

1928: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Greenville Police in searching for a vehicle that was being driven by a possible drunk driver.

2020: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Greenville Police with an ambulance call on Mill Street in Greenville.

Monday 07/29/02-

1135: Criminal Mischief: A school employee reported that some time over the weekend someone had broken a window and ripped off a screen. No one was observed in the area.

1330: MV Complaint: Police received another complaint about a green motorcycle operating recklessly the day before. The Chief of Police took care of the matter.

1445: Disabled MV: Police were informed that a vehicle broke down on River Road. The owner stated that it would be removed before dark.

1524: Alarm: Police responed to Mascenic High School for a Burglar Alarm. The building was secure and Police cleared the scene.

1749: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to a 911 Hang Up call at a residence on Thayer Road. The residents denied any knowledge of calls or problems and Police cleared the scene.

1900: Service of Paperwork: Police attempted to serve a subpoena from the Nashua Police to a New Ipswich resident. The resident was out of the area for several days and the Nashua Police were informed of that fact.

2022: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to a residence on Thayer Road for another 911 Hang Up call. The residents continued to deny any knowledge of the calls or of any problems.

2058: Civil Matter: Police provided assistance for a Civil Matter concerning a New Ipswich resident and a former New Ipswich resident.

2134: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Mason Police with traffic control on Route 31 in Mason due to a tree that had fallen.

2254: MV Complaint: Police received a report of a vehicle tearing up the lawn at the NeWest Mall. The vehicle was gone on arrival and no significant damage was observed.


Tuesday 07/30/02-

1245: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to a residence on Mill Street for a 911 Hang Up call. Two children were home and both denied touching the phone. Police determined that they were fine and no one else was in the apartment and then they cleared the scene.

1420: Suspicious Activity: Police received a report of someone possibly selling stolen goods out of the back of a Ford Explorer. Based on information received from the Rindge Police Department they determined that the person works for a legitimate company.


Wednesday 07/31/02-

0746: Suspicious Vehicle: Police received a report of a vehicle parked at the Bank of New Hampshire occupied by a person who appeared to be sleeping or unonscious, with his foot stuck out the window. They determined that it was a customer of the bank who worked overnight and was waiting for the bank to open.

0947: Follow Up: Due to recent incidents of Criminal Mischief, the Police were given written authorization to clear people off the New Ipswich Market's property after the store closes for the day. The pay phone is being removed and there is no longer any lawful purpose to be on the property after the store closes.

1020: Citizen Assist: The mother of a New Ipswich resident reported that she had not heard from her daughter in a while and the phone had been disconnected. Police were unable to contact the woman, but were informed by a neighbor that she had gone somewhere with her husband.

1140: Ambulance Assist: Police assisted SVAS with a medical call at a residence on Manley Road.

1301: Suspicious Activity: A New Ipswich resident observed a strange man walking at the end of his driveway, carrying a box that looked like one owned by the resident. When the resident returned home he saw that his front door was open and called the Police. Nothing appeared to be taken and the subject could not be found in the area.

1334: Suspicious Activity: Police were informed that several local youths had been observed buying a dozen cans of whipped cream from a store. Police stopped the vehicle for a Yellow Line Violation, but the person who bought the cans was no longer in the vehicle.

1415: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a New Ipswich resident with a VIN Verification for a school bus that was to be used for a church function.

1530: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a New Ipswich resident with obtaining a fingerprint card for school employment.

1630: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Temple Police with tracking down the owner of a vehicle that had been left on private property in Temple. They were unable to locate the owner and the vehicle was towed to Tuttle's.


Thursday 08/01/02-

1254: OHRV Complaint: Police received an OHRV complaint from a resident of Green Farm Road. This is an ongoing neighbor dispute and the Police are looking into ways to resolve the matter.

1256: Theft: Police received a report of a theft at a residence in New Ipswich. The resident suspects a family member and stated that he will be trying to resolve the situation before Police are brought into the matter.

1422: OHRV Complaint: Police received a complaint that OHRVs were operating on Ken Street. The area was checked twice with negative contact.

1630: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that the old wooden gates at the Central Cemetary had been damaged by an unknown person.

1721: MV Complaint: Police received a complaint about thousands of speeding cars on Temple Road. They ran radar for almost half an hour and only observed one vehicle speeding. The driver was given a Written Warning.

1757: Follow Up: Police conducted a follow up investigation on an OHRV complaint on Green Farm Road.

1815: MV Accident: Earl Rivers, 28, of New Ipswich was driving a 1993 Chevy 3500 on Thayer Road when he observed a vehicle coming towards him on a narrow section of road. He cut the corner too close and struck a piece of granite near the bridge, causing minor damage to the truck.

2040: Found Property: Police found a bicycle and a broken helmet on Binney Hill Road. It appeared to have been involved in an accident, but no one was found in the area. The Police secured the bicycle at the Police Station.

2147: Animal Complaint: Police observed two women in a car on Town Hill who appeared to be afraid to get out due to two large dogs barking at them. Police got the dogs out of the area, spoke to the owner about the town's leash law, and notified the Animal Control Officer.


Friday 08/02/02-

0950: MV Lock Out: Police received a report of a motor vehicle lock out on Stowell Road. The car had power locks and Tuttle's was notified to respond and open the door.

1038: Citizen Assist: Police gave a New Ipswich resident a ride home from the Jaffrey-Peterborough Court as she did not have any means of getting home.

1209: OHRV Complaint: Police responded to Green Farm Road for an ongoing OHRV Complaint/Neighbor Dispute.

1810: OHRV Complaint: Police received a report of OHRVs operating on Appleton Road. The vehicles were gone on arrival.

1815: Suspicious Activity: Police received a report that a man was cutting trees on private property without permission. They determined that it was a misunderstanding and cleared the scene.

2125: MV Complaint: Police were informed that a white truck was operating erratically on Route 124 from the Sharon line. The truck pulled into a driveway before Police arrived and they cleared the scene.

2340: Alarm: Police responded to the New Ipswich Market for a burglar alarm. They found several doors open and determined that the employees had not locked them when they went home for the evening. The building was secured and the owner was notified.


Saturday 08/03/02-

0807: Criminal Mischief: Police were informed that a mailbox had been destroyed by an unknown person the night before on Old Wilton Road.

0820: Citizen Assist: Police gave a juvenile a ride to her home.

0930: Criminal Mischief: Police were informed that a mailbox had been destroyed by an unknown person the night before on Perry Road.

1020: Littering: Police received a report that a white truck was driving down Poor Farm Road towards the dump and debris was falling out onto the road. The area was checked and Police found neither a truck nor debris.

1130: Criminal Mischief: Police were informed that two mailboxes had been destroyed by an unknown person the night before on Thayer Road.

1134: Disabled MV: Police assisted a citizen with disabled motor vehicle on Route 124.

1204: Criminal Mischief: Police responded to Page Hill Road to investigate a report of a mailbox that had been partially burned by an unknown person.

1326: OHRV Complaint: Police responded to an OHRV complaint at Windblown Ski Area. They spoke to the couple that was operating the OHRV and advised them that they were on private property and needed to leave. All parties cleared the scene without incident.

1610: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a Maon resident with questions about rules of the road for agricultural equipment.

1625: Disabled MV: Police assisted a New Ipswich resident with a disabled motor vehicle on Turnpike Road.

1705: Found Property: Police found a lawnmower in some bushes just over the Sharon line.

1721: MV Complaint: Police received a report of a white Camaro operating recklessly on Thayer Road. The vehicle was gone on arrival.
