08/11/02 to 08/17/02-
Sunday 08/11/02-
0256: MV Complaint: Police received a complaint about motorcycles speeding on Route 124. It was gone on arrival.
1023: Noise Complaint: Police received a complaint about Thayer Wood Energy violating a court order and creating an excessive amount of noise. Police reviewed the order and determined that there was no violation.
1155: MV Stop: Police stopped Daniel Jackson, 46, of Marston Mills, MA on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.
1205: MV Stop: Police stopped Damian Stacy, 19, of New Ipswich on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Failure to Display Front Plate.
1402: Alarm: Police responded to a Burglar Alarm at the Community Christian Church.They found the side door open, but no one was in the building. They secured the door and notified the keyholder.
1413: Disorderly Subject: Police responded to the New Ipswich Market for a report of an individual in the road way who was yelling obscenities and jumping up and down. The individual was gone on arrival.
1510: Abandoned MV: Police observed an unregistered motor vehicle that had been left on the side of Currier Road. They contacted the owner and the owner had the vehicle towed to their residence. Carlene Wardwell, 46, of New Ipswich was issued a Written Warning for an Unregistered Vehicle.
1828: OHRV Complaint: Police responded to Old Country Road for a report of unregistered OHRVs on the road. The vehicles were gone on arrival.
1850: MV Complaint: Police received a report of a motorcycle operating on Route 124. The vehicle was gone on arrival.
1858: MV Stop: Police stopped William Watkinson, 17, of New Ipswich on Wheeler Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.
1911: MV Accident: Police responded to Route 124 and observed John Massalski, 55, of Massachusetts standing next to his motorcycle. He stated that he struck a curb when he was turning a corner, but did not injure himself or the motorcycle. Police determined that he was wanted in Massachusetts, but they would not extradite, so he was allowed to go.
1946: Mutual Aid: Police responded to Greenville to assist with a fight on Old Ashby Road. On arrival Greenville had one male in custody and they cleared without incident.
2250: MV Complaint: Police received another complaint about a motorcycle speeding on Route 124. Police are looking into several options to resolve the issue.
Monday 08/12/02-
0750: MV Stop: Police stopped Norman Ross, 19, of Boxford, MA on Route 124 and issued a Written Warning for Speed.
1023: Harassment: Police received a report that a New Ipswich resident has been receiving harassing phone calls. Police are investigating the matter.
1728: MV Stop: Police stopped Renae Aho, 20, of New Ipswich on Goen Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.
1930: Criminal Mischief: Police responded to Pizza Haven for a report of a customer that threw his pizza after a verbal dispute with his brother.
2044: MV Stop: Police stopped Ry Kim, 29, of Jaffrey on Route 124 and issued a Written Warning for Speed.
Tuesday 08/13/02-
1219: MV Accident: Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Old Wilton Road. Dana Laha, 17, of New Ipswich lost control of her vehicle and struck a minivan driven by Katherine St. Amand, 32, of Temple. Both vehicles were totalled and the drivers and passengers were all transported to the hospital for minor injuries. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
1630: Alarm: Police responded to a residence on Poor Farm Road for a Burglar alarm. The building was secure and Police cleared the scene.
1705: MV Stop: Police stopped Steven Markiewicz, 47, of Walpole, NH on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.
1850: Dog Complaint: Police responded to Maki Drive for a report of loose dogs. This is an ongoing problem and Police are working to resolve it.
2000: MV Stop: Police stopped Nicholas Winegar, 19, of New Ipswich on Ashby Road and issued a Written Warning for Defective Equipment: Head Light.
2015: OHRV Complaint: Police received a report that a dirt bike was driving along Hubbard Pond Road with no headlight.
2025: MV Stop: Police stopped Jeffrey Hakala, 22, of New Ipswich on Sharon Road as he had a dirt bike in the back of his vehicle that matched the description of an OHRV Complaint from earlier in the evening. He was advised to make sure that he followed the State's OHRV laws.
2045: MV Stop: Police stopped Adam Haavisto, 17, of New Ipswich on Hubbard Pond Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.
2106: MV Accident: Police responded to Vaillancourt Drive for a report of a vehicle that struck a parked car. They were assisted by the Mason and Greenville Police Departments. On arrival they determined that the driver, Micah Hill, 27, of New Ipswich was unconscious and unresponsive. He was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital by the Souhegan Valley Ambulance Service. Hill allegedly overdosed on GHB and became unresponsive twice more before doctors were able to stabilize his condition. He was treated and later released into the custody of his parents. He is being charged with DWI.
Wednesday 08/14/02-
1038: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a New Ipswich resident with obtaining fingerprints for school employment.
1720: MV Stop: Police stopped Albert St. Pierre, 46, of New Ipswich on Greenville Road and issued a Written Warning for having an Uninspected MV.
2200: MV Stop: Police stopped Jed Wheeler, 20, of New Ipswich on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Defective Equipment: Directional.
2305: Arrest: Police responded to the Central School on Turnpike Road for a report of a burglary in progress. They were assisted by the Greenville and Mason Police Departments. On arrival at the school, they found two subjects on the roof. Police allege that the two were drinking on the roof and also caused some damage to the school. Lawrence Edwards Harris, 20, of New Ipswich is being charged with Criminal Mischief, Criminal Trespass and Illegal Possession of Alcohol. Adam Gautreau, 17, of New Ipswich is also being charged with Criminal Mischief, Criminal Trespass and Illegal Possession of Alcohol, and was arrested on two Electronic Bench Warrants from other agencies.
Thursday 08/15/02-
0847: MV Complaint: Police received a complaint about a vehicle at the Bank of New Hampshire parking lot that came too close to another car. As no damage occurred and no laws were broken, no action was taken by Police.
0911: Neighbor Dispute: Police spoke to a resident of Green Farm Road about an ongoing neighbor dispute.
1000: MV Complaint: Police spoke to a resident of Old Country Road about ways to resolve ongoing vehicle complaints on the road and in the pit area.
1312: OHRV Complaint: Police stopped two juveniles riding OHRVs on Thayer Road. Police issued a warning to both and cleared the scene.
1600: Theft: Police received a report that a bicycle was stolen at the Town Pool. They responded and determined that the thief had stripped the bicycle, left it in the woods, and then rode off in a friend's car. With assistance from witnesses and the Mason Police, the thief was tracked down and the stolen parts were recovered.
1947: MV Stop: Police stopped Kevin McGavigan, 51, of Keene, NH on Route 124 and issued a Written Warning for Speed.
Friday 08/16/02-
1117: Alarm: Police responded to the Community Christian Church for a Burglar alarm. A PSNH tech was working inside and his pass code was not working. Police cleared the scene.
1545: MV Accident: Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Old Tenney Road. Todd Aho, 16, of New Ipswich lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree. He had a minor abrasion on his neck from his seatbelt, but was otherwise uninjured. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
1603: Alarm: Police responded to a residence on Appleton Road for a Burglar alarm. The residence was secure and Police cleared the scene.
1806: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to Sharon Road for a 911 Hang Up. The door was unlocked but no one was home. A neighbor stated that the family just left. There was no sign of any trouble and Police cleared the scene.
1850: Dog Complaint: Police received a report of a stray dog at the New Ipswich Market. The Animal was taken to the Town Kennel by the Animal Control Officer.
1910: Assist Fire Department: Police assisted the Fire Department at a minor fire on Turnpike Road.
1933: MV Complaint: Police received a report of a vehicle operating at high rates of speed on Route 124. They stopped Samantha Nolette, 17, of New Ipswich on Lower Pratt Pond Road and issued a warning for speed.
1949: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that a fourteen year old boy rode his bike into the Town Pool while it was occupied with numerous swimmers. The boy apologized and agreed to five hours of community service if no charges were filed.
1951: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to a residence on Main Street for a 911 Hang Up call. They spoke to a woman who stated that her daughter was playing with the phone. Police spoke to them about how and when to call 911.
2011: Citizen Assist: Police responded to a residence on Timbertop Road to assist a citizen who was locked out of their house. They stayed with the resident until a locksmith arrived.
2124: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Greenville Police with two arrests at Ashton Court in Greenville.
2200: Citizen Assist: Police spoke to a New Ipswich resident who was mugged in Fitchburg, MA. She asked that Police check her house to ensure that the perpetrators had not gone to her house. The residence was clear and Police departed the scene.
2215: MV Complaint: Police responded to a complaint of vehicles drag racing on River Road. The vehicles were gone on arrival.
2215: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Greenville Police with a report of disorderly subjects on Mill Street in Greenville. The subjects were gone on arrival.
2235: Mutual Aid: Police responded to Mill Street in Greenville for another report of disorderly subjects. As a result, Police arrested Ricky Lee Burns, Jr., 21, of Jaffrey for DWI and Operating Without a Valid License.
2353: MV Complaint: Police received a report of a vehicle operating erratically on Ashby Road. Police found the car parked on Whittemore Hill Road with no one inside. The owner of the vehicle denied driving it and Police cleared the scene.
Saturday 08/17/02-
0100: Ambulance Assist: Police assisted SVAS with a medical call on Turnpike Road. Due to safety concerns, Police rode in the ambulance to the hospital. On arrival, it was determined that the patient had overdosed on heroin.
0931: MV Accident: Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Main Street. Jean Deschenes, 33, of New Ipswich hit a parked car belonging to Ivers Lawrence of New Ipswich. There were no injuries.
1056: MV Accident: A Belletete's delivery truck struck a parked vehicle on Main Street and left the scene. When Police tracked the driver down he stated that the street was crowded with traffic from the Children's Fair and he did not realize he hit the car. No charges will be filed.
1330: Citizen Assist: Police gave an elderly New Ipswich resident a ride home from the Children's Fair.
1350: Tree Down: Police responded to Collins Road and directed traffic around a tree that had fallen until the Highway Department was able to respond and remove it.
1440: Burglary: Police responded to Middle Pratt Pond Road for a report of a Burglary that occurred in the past. Unknown suspects broke into an unoccupied summer camp and caused some damage to the camp. No high value items appear to have been taken.
2350: Mutual Aid: At the request of the Greenville Police, a car was stopped on Main Street in Greenville to check for a possible intoxicated driver. The driver was not intoxicated and Police cleared the scene.
