09/08/02 to 09/14/02-


Sunday 09/08/02-

0751: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that an unknown person had thrown a bottle through a Turnpike Road resident's car window sometime the night before.

0812: Assist Fire Department: Police assisted the New Ipswich Fire Department with a fire alarm at the church on Main Street. They determined that it was a false alarm and Police cleared the scene.

1310: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a juvenile female and her parents to resolve some ongoing issues.

1420: Civil Standby: Police stood by at a local business to ensure that the business owner returned parts that belonged to a Massachusetts resident, in relation to an ongoing investigation.

1500: Follow Up: Police conducted an interview in reference to an ongoing fraud investigation.

1740: MV Summons: Police stopped Chanelle Krook, 18, of New Ipswich on Turnpike Road and issued a MV Summons for Speed: 64 mph in a 30 mph zone. She was given a court date of Ocober 11.

1800: Civil Standby: Police stood by at a local business to ensure that the business owner returned parts that belonged to another Massachusetts resident, in relation to an ongoing investigation.

1844: MV Stop: Police stopped Lawrence Torre, 22, of New Ipswich on Temple Road and issued a Written Warning for a Stop Sign Violation.

1855: JV Complaint: Police received a report that there were minors drinking in a vehicle on Greenville Road near the cemetary. They were gone on arrival.

2340: MV Stop: Police stopped Ian Goddard, 20, of Rindge on Temple Road and issued a Written Warning for Defective Equipment: Head Light and Tail Light.

Monday 09/09/02-

0800: MV Stop: Police stopped Timothy Somero, 31, of New Ipswich on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1046: Check the Welfare: Police were contacted by a Manchester resident who stated that his friend, a New Ipswich resident, had been depressed and was talking about suicide. Police spoke to the woman and arranged for her to see her doctor.

1747: Citizen Assist: Police and SVAS were notified that there was a male subject on Old Country Road who was sick or intoxicated. On arrival they determined that the individual was intoxicated and gave him a ride home to Greenville.

1835: OHRV Complaint: Police received a complaint about OHRVs operating on Gibbs Avenue. The area was checked and the vehicles were gone on arrival.

1924: Mutual Aid: Police were asked to assist the Mason Police in Mason.

1941: Arrest: Police were notified of a verbal dispute at the New Ipswich Market. On arrival they observed Heikki Lehtonen, 43, of Temple leaving the scene. He was subsequently arrested for DWI - 2nd offense and Resisting Arrest. He was booked, bailed and released.


Tuesday 09/10/02-

0840: Neighbor Dispute: Police spoke to a resident about an ongoing neighbor dispute.

1120: Theft: Police were informed of a possible theft from a logging operation.

1145: Criminal Mischief: Police were informed that an unknown person had vandalized a barn and a dump truck on Stowell Road.

1312: Criminal Mischief: Police were notified of an ongoing case of Criminal Mischief on Fox Farm Road. They are investigating the matter.

1430: MV Accident: Police responded to Mascenic High School to investigate a motor vehicle accident involving a school bus. The bus driver struck a parked car that was not parked in the proper spot. There was minor damage to the vehicles and no injuries.

2010: Harassment: Police received a report that a New Ipswich resident was receiving threatening phone calls. They are investigating the matter.


Wednesday 09/11/02-

0014: Suspicious Person: Police responded to a residence on Spindleback Lane to investigate a report of a suspicious person. There was no one in the area when they arrived.

0900: MV Stop: Police stopped Muhammad Nasim, 19, of Greenville on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1422: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to a residence on Turnpike Road to investigate a 911 Hang Up call. They spoke to a woman who stated that she had misdialed the phone.

1550: MV Stop: Police stopped Amos Traffie, 20, of New Ipswich on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1710: Abandoned MV: Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle with no license plates on Greenfarm Road. They tracked down the owner using the VIN number.

1752: Tree Down: Police received a report of a tree down on Beechwood Road. The Highway Department stated that they would take care of it in the morning, as it was not a safety hazard.

1803: Tree Down: Police received a report of a tree down on Temple Road. The tree was across some wires and PSNH was notified. The area was roped off and PSNH did not respond to fix the problem until 2330 hours.

1823: Tree Down: Police received a report of a tree that fell and snapped wires and a pole on Turnpike Road. Part of the road was closed down until 2315 hours when PSNH arrived to repair the problem.


Thursday 09/12/02-

0900: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a Merrimack resident with obtaining a fingerprint card for school employment.

0940: Police Information: Police spoke to a resident of another town about an ongoing investigation into deceptive business practices at a business in New Ipswich.

0945: Harassment: Police spoke to a resident about options for dealing with a juvenile male who was harassing his family.

1000: Police Information: Police spoke to a second resident of another town about an ongoing investigation into deceptive business practices at a business in New Ipswich.

1047: Police Information: Police spoke to a third resident of another town about an ongoing investigation into deceptive business practices at a business in New Ipswich.

1303: Illegal Dumping: Police spoke to a resident about a pile of old tires that was found at the end of Old Country Road. The tires were disposed of by the Highway Department.

2040: Criminal Threatening: Police received a report of a vehicle that blocked Route 123. One of the occupants of the vehicle allegedly got out and threatened a motorist with a pair of brass knuckles. The subject was later apprehended by the Temple Police.


Friday 09/13/02-

0847: Police Information: A woman called looking for information about her boyfriend, who was allegedly arrested by Police the night before. Police had no contact with the man at all that night.

0920: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Tyngsboro Police Department with tracking down a resident named in an investigation in Tyngsboro. The man no longer lives in town, but Police were able to track down his last known address.

1132: Ambulance Assist: Police assisted SVAS with a medical call on Appleton Road.

1243: Unruly JV: Police responded to the Central School to assist the staff with an out of control student. The boy was transported to MCH for evaluation and later released to his guardian.

1330: Assist Fire Department: Police responded to Playground Road to assist the Fire Department with a fire alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm and Police cleared the scene.

1600: Police Information: Another woman called looking for information about her boyfriend, who was also allegedly arrested by Police the night before. Police had no contact with the man at all that night.

1900: OHRV Complaint: Police received a report of OHRVs operating in Greenfarm Road. They spoke to the operators, who agreed to keep it quiet for the night.

1915: Fire: Police received a report that there was a possible fire on Nashua Road. They determined that the fire was in Sharon and notified the proper agency.

1928: Trespassing: Police observed two residents at the Town Landfill. They stated that they were bear hunting and were informed that they were trespassing in a clearly posted area. They left without incident.


Saturday 09/14/02-

0723: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that a mailbox had been destroyed on Nora Court sometime during the night.

0915: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that a mailbox had been destroyed on Page Hill Road sometime during the night.

1010: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that a mailbox had been destroyed on Perry Road sometime during the night.

1120: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that another mailbox had been destroyed on Page Hill Road sometime during the night.

1200: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a citizen with a question about boat regulations on a local pond.

1210: Mutual Aid: Police responded to Greenville to assist with a large group of motorcyclists that was allegedly harassing a motorist who had been involved in a minor accident with one of them. The motorcyclists left the area without further incident.

1223: Neighbor Dispute: Police were informed of an incident related to an ongoing neighbor dispute on Greenfarm Road. Both parties were advised to try and get along.

1746: OHRV Complaint: Police received a complaint about a dirt bike operating on Appleton Road. They spoke to the driver and he walked the bike to his yard and was told not to leave the yard again with the dirt bike or he would be charged.

1816: Noise Complaint: Police responded to Binney Hill Road for a complaint about a loud party. The area was quiet on arrival.

1826: Ambulance Assist: Police assisted SVAS with a medical call at a residence on Temple Road.

1844: OHRV Complaint: Police received a report of OHRVs operating on Wheeler Road. They were gone on arrival.

1912: Barking Dog: Police received a report of a dog barking on Page Hill Road. The matter was taken care of by a neighbor before Police arrived.

2120: MV Stop: Police stopped Trina Somero, 17, of New Ipswich on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Manner of Operation.

2130: MV Stop: Police stopped Herbert Nobles, 36, of Waxhaw, NC on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Defective Equipment: Tail Light.

2130: MV Stop: Police stopped Joshua Saari, 16, of New Ipswich on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

2140: Suspicious Activity: Three subjects were located behind a closed business, They were dispersed without incident.

2235: MV Stop: Police stopped Colin Duggan, 34, of Washington, NH on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

2307: MV Stop: Police stopped Kim Draper, 47, of Groton, MA on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

2310: MV Stop: Police stopped Natalie Pelletier, 24, of New Ipswich on Thayer Road and issued a Written Warning for Manner of Operation.

2334: Suspicious Activity: Police observed a vehicle parked at the ABC Lot on Tricnit Road. They observed an individual inside the vehicle who was unconscious and unresponsive. SVAS was dispatched and the individual was evaluated and released to a friend.
