09/30/02 to 10/06/02-



Monday 09/30/02-

0945: Animal Complaint: A Massachusetts resident reported that on 9/28/02 a dog was chasing her husband, who was driving his motorcycle on Ashby Road. The dog then ran out in front of the woman, who was following in a car, and she was unable to avoid him. The dog was injured slightly and the woman informed the owners of the occurrence.

0958: MV Stop: Police stopped Rebecca Kelley, 19, of New Ipswich on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for a Stop Sign Violation.

1157: MV Stop: Police stopped Andres Muniz, 43, of Lawrence, MA on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1713: Arrest: As the result of several complaints about a motor vehicle operating recklessly, Police arrested Cassandra Moynihan, 24, of Marion, MA for DWI, Speed and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

1732: JV Complaint: Police received a report of unruly juveniles at the playground. They determined that a disagreement between skateboarders and football players had occurred. The call was handled by the State Police, as the New Ipswich officer was handling an arrest.


Tuesday 10/01/02-

0734: MV Summons: Police stopped Ross Walker, 20, of New Ipswich on Beechwood Road and issued a summons for an uninspected motor vehicle.

1202: Neighbor Dispute: A verbal disagreement erupted between two neighbors over an ongoing property line dispute. They were advised to resolve the question with their landlord and to try to get along.

1505: Animal Complaint: Police received a report that the animals of a recently deceased resident were possibly being neglected. The matter was handled by the Animal Control Officer, who determined that the animals were being not being neglected.

1743: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that an unknown person entered an unlocked residence on Ashburnham Road and turned over furniture and threw some things around. There was no damage and nothing was taken.

1926: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that a mailbox on Timbertop Road had been destroyed by an unknown person.


Wednesday 10/02/02-




Thursday 10/03/02-

1000: Theft: Police received a report that a New Ipswich resident used another person's credit card without permission. They are looking into the matter.

1039: Citizen Assist: Police were asked to assist a resident who had locked herself out of her house. They advised her to sign up for the Police Department's Safe Key program.

1521: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a Wilton resident with obtaining a fingerprint card for school employment.

1840: MV Complaint: Police received a report of cars "peeling out" in the church parking lot on Goen Road. The vehicles were gone on arrival.

2133: Arrest: As the result of a serious one car accident on Greenville Road, Police arrested John Donovan, 50, of Mason for Aggravated DWI. He was booked and bailed at Monadnock Community Hospital and then transferred to UMASS Worcester due to the extent of his injuries.


Friday 10/04/02-

1000: JV Complaint: Police received a report that two girls were truant from Boynton Middle School. It was later determined that the girls had been taken on a trip to Maine by one of the girl's parents.

1015: Disabled MV: Police received a report that a truck was partially blocking Greenville Road. The vehicle was gone on arrival.

1515: OHRV Complaint: Police received a complaint about OHRVs operating on Ken Street and on Greenbriar Road. They were gone on arrival.

1610: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report of a possible break in at the Snack Shack at the playground. They determined that the lock had been damaged, but nothing was taken and there was no further damage.

1900: MV Stop: Police stopped Clayton Olin, 18, of Rindge on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

2125: MV Complaint: Police cleared three cars from the playground lot after hours and secured the gate.

2140: Unwanted Subjects: Police cleared approximately 30 cars from the ABC Lot without incident.


Saturday 10/05/02-

1136: Assist Ambulance: Police assisted SVAS with a call at a residence on Turnpike Road.

1330: Suspicious Circumstances: Police received a report that an unknown person had called a New Ipswich resident and informed him that he had to buy insurance for his credit cards or he would go to jail for a violation of New Hampshire law. The caller then asked for the credit card numbers so that they could sign him up for the supposed insurance. The resident wisely chose to hang up and not give them the numbers. The matter is under investigation. All residents are reminded that they should not give their personal information out to anyone they do not know. If there are any questions, please contact your bank or the Police for further information.


Sunday 10/06/02-

0930: MV Stop: Police stopped Jill Antinelle, 23, of Greenville on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1239: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that the Citgo station on Turnpike Road had been vandalized. An unknown person had painted an obscenity on the right side garage door. Anyone with information on this crime is encouraged to call the Police Department.

1300: MV Stop: Police stopped Anne Farrelly, 40, of Lunenburg, MA on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1320: MV Accident: Police responded to an accident on Timbertop Road involving three vehicles. There were no injuries and only minor damage.

1341: MV Accident: Police responded to an accident on Turnpike Road at North Road. David Sikkila, 50, of New Ipswich was attempting to turn onto North Road when a motorcycle operated by Jared Reine, 20, of Rindge hit Sikkila's vehicle broadside. Reine sustained injuries and was transported to MCH for treatment.

1545: Unwanted Subjects: Police observed several juveniles loitering at the ABC Lot. They were advised that the owner did not want anyone in the lot after business hours and the subjects were moved along without incident.

1635: MV Accident: Police responded to an accident on Turnpike Road. Creighton Seppala, 16, of Rindge was attempting to pass on a double yellow line when he struck a vehicle operated by Philip Poole, 33, of Newport, NH head on in the eastbound lane. Poole was injured, but declined medical aid, and his vehicle sustained heavy damage. Seppala and one of his passengers were transported to MCH for treatment. A second passenger was released to a parent. Charges against Seppala for Reckless Operation are forthcoming.
