complete listing of all activity during the week.




10/7/02 to 10/13/02-



Monday 10/7/02-

0826: MV Stop: Police stopped Paula Stack, 20, of Greenville on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

0945: Theft: Police received a report that several tools had been stolen from a construction site. The owner did not have serial numbers and there are currently no suspects. Police are looking into the matter.

1856: Alarm: Police responded to a business on Turnpike Road for a burglar alarm. They determined that it was a false alarm and cleared the area.

2105: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that a vehicle with no lights on was driving down Wilson Hill Road and one of the passengers was shooting paintballs out the window. The area was checked and nothing was found.

2135: Suspicious Vehicle: Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle on Main Street. They determined that it was a tractor trailer driver who was known to the owner of the property.


Tuesday 10/8/02-

0840: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to a residence on River Road for a 911 Hang Up. They determined that a resident was going to call an ambulance, but changed their mind. Police cleared the scene.

1200: Mutual Aid: Police received a report from a hospital in Fitchburg, MA that a New Ipswich resident's car had been abandoned in the hospital parking lot for several days. The family of the owner was notified and told to move the car as soon as possible.

1615: Follow Up: Police conducted a follow up investigation on a serious motor vehicle accident that occurred the week before.

1835: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that a house on Wheeler Road had been hit with paintballs. No one was observed in the area.

1905: MV Summons: Police stopped William Watkinson, 17, of New Ipswich on Turnpike Road and issued a MV Summons for Speed: 73 mph in a 45 mph zone.

1925: Follow Up: Police conducted a follow up investigation on an assault case.

1945: MV Complaint: Police received a report of a white car operating at a high rate of speed on River Road. The vehicle was gone on arrival.

2305: Mutual Aid: The Ashby, MA Police Department requested that New Ipswich help them attempt to locate a vehicle registered to a New Ipswich resident that had been observed driving recklessly.


Wednesday 10/9/02-

1240: Follow Up: Police spoke to a local business owner about some recent issues, including an accident involving one of his company vehicles.

1256: Follow Up: Police conducted a follow up investigation on some suspicious activity that occurred at a local business two weeks ago.

1548: OHRV Complaint: Police received a complaint about an OHRV operating recklessly on Gibbs Avenue. The vehicle was gone on arrival.

1635: Follow Up: Police conducted a follow up on a harassment case involving a Derry resident and a New Ipswich resident.

1700: MV Complaint: Police received a complaint about a small blue pickup truck that has been observed speeding up and down Settlement Hill Road recently. Police advised the caller that they would be on the lookout for the vehicle.

1735: MV Stop: Police stopped Clinton Aho, 22, of New Ipswich on Ashburnham Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1815: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Ashby, MA Police with locating a New Ipswich resident so that they could interview him about a motor vehicle complaint made against him.

1950: MV Stop: Police stopped Harley Coponen, 16, of New Ipswich on Goen Road and issued a Written Warning for a Town Noise Ordinance Violation.

2100: MV Stop: Police stopped Darren Wheeler, 24, of New Ipswich on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.


Thursday 10/10/02-

0835: MV Stop: Police stopped Shawn Stacy, 26, of Fitchburg, MA on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for School Zone Speed.

1315: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a New Ipswich resident in resolving a safety concern with a local company.

1410: MV Stop: Police issued a Written Warning for a vehicle registered to David Somero, 50, of New Ipswich for parking in a No Parking zone.

1455: MV Stop: Police stopped Russell Orlando, 77, of Milford on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for School Zone Speed.

1700: OHRV Complaint: Police conducted a patrol of Gibbs Avenue and Ken Street in reference to several OHRV complaints. Police spent 40 minutes in the area and no OHRVs were seen.

1716: Follow Up: Police located a vehicle that may have been involved in a hit and run in Manchester. The information was passed on to the Manchester Police.

1930: MV Complaint: Police received a report of a vehicle operating erratically. It was determined that the vehicle was actually in Greenville.

2134: Animal Complaint: Police received a report of a possible animal fight on Temple Road. They did not observe anything unusual, but the Animal Control Officer was asked to look into it when the sun came up the next day.


Friday 10/11/02-

1130: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Greenville Police with an arrest in Greenville.

1141: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Greenville Police with a call in Greenville.

1235: Criminal Trespass: Police received a report that a New Ipswich resident had walked into a home on Academy Road without knocking. The subject has been told before by the homeowner that he is not welcome at the residence. The Police spoke to him and advised him that he would be arrested if he entered the house again.

1925: MV Complaint: Police received a report of a vehicle operating erratically on Turnpike Road. The vehicle was gone on arrival.


Saturday 10/12/02-

0835: MV Summons: Police stopped Suzanne Lee, 30, of Greenbrae, CA on Turnpike Road and issued a MV Summons for Speed: 51 mph in a 30 mph zone.

1020: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that a mailbox on Goen Road was destroyed by an unknown person.

1240: Citizen Assist: Police observed a disabled motor vehicle on Turnpike Road. They gave the owner a ride to another location.

1410: MV Stop: Police stopped Clifton Barney, 35, of Greenville on River Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1519: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Greenville Police with an out of control subject in Greenville.

1740: Citizen Assist: Police spoke to the owner of a local business about ways to resolve an ongoing juvenile issue.

2142: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Greenville Police with an arrest in Greenville.

2159: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Greenville Police with a call in Greenville.


Sunday 10/13/02-

0038: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to a 911 Hang Up on Binney Hill Road. A girl at the residence stated that she got scared because her parents had been arguing. The situation had been resolved before Police arrived and no assault occurred, so Police cleared the scene.

0101: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to the same residence on Binney Hill Road for three more 911 Hang Up calls. They cleared the scene after they determined that the redial button on the phone was stuck and that there were no further problems.

0908: MV Stop: Police stopped Dale Desmarais, 28, of Jaffrey on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1200: MV Stop: Police stopped James Livingston, 55, of Worcester, MA on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1309: Alarm: Police responded to a business on Turnpike Road for a burglar alarm. The building was clear and they departed the area.

1510: Alarm: Police responded to a building on Academy Road for a burglar alarm. The door was secure and Police cleared the scene.

1615: Arrest: Police arrested Reuben Chalke, 25, New Ipswich on a warrant from the Greenville Police Department. He was bailed and given a Greenville Police court date.

1631: Alarm: Police responded to Appleton School for a burglar alarm. The building was secure and Police cleared the scene.

1840: JV Problem: Police were notified of a possible disturbance at the New Ipswich Market. On arrival, they determined that it was a misunderstanding and cleared the scene.
