11/11/01 to 11/17/01
Sunday 11/11/01-
11:59 AM: Officer Walker responded to Old Country Road to investigate an OHRV complaint. Six registered OHRVs from Mason were found and advised of the law against operating on a road.
12:23 PM: Residents of Malthouse Road, North Road and Fox Farm Road reported that their houses had been struck by paintballs sometime Saturday night into Sunday morning.
6:23 PM: A resident of Mason Road reported receiving harassing notes. The police are looking into it.
Monday 11/12/01-
09:20- A resident of Old Country Road reported a suspicious vehicle in the area. Chief Connell checked the area and found no vehicles matching the description.
Wednesday 11/14/01-
13:50- Suspicious Vehicle: A resident of Gibbs Avenue reported that a black pickup truck was driving up and down the road, squealing its tires and driving too fast. No vehicle was found in the area.
14:15- Suspicious vehicle: Mascenic High School reported a black pickup truck that was driving too fast and squealing its tires in the school parking lot. Chief Connell pulled the vehicle over and spoke to the driver and his passenger, both juveniles, about the incident.
16:05- Lost hunter: A resident of Kenneybeck Court reported that her elderly father-in-law had been out all day hunting and had not returned. She called back ten minutes later to report that he had returned safely.
16:20- Witness tampering: Officer Chatel is investigating another report of witness tampering (by written threats) in an ongoing investigation. The county attorney was notified of the incident.
21:45- MV Accident: Officer Chatel responded to the scene of a one vehicle accident on Route 123 near the Windblown Ski Area. The driver, Kurt Stroh, 45, of Greenville was subsequently arrested for DUI. He was transported to MCH for minor injuries. His passenger, Alex Crosby, 40, of Greenville was also transported to MCH for serious injuries including a broken pelvis. The vehicle, a 1985 Ford pickup truck, was totaled and had to be towed from the scene.
Thursday 11/15/01-
04:22- MV Accident: Officers Chatel and Kandoll responded to the scene of a one vehicle accident on Timbertop Road. The driver, Heather Young of Greenville, had misjudged the distance and struck a mailbox. The driver was uninjured and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
12:45- Loose Dog: A resident of North Road reported that a large dog was in her backyard. The Animal Control Officer was notified.
21:15- Criminal Mischief: A Greenville firefighter reported that the occupants of a maroon Honda Civic were firing paintballs at passing vehicles on Highbridge Road near the Greenville line. Offcier Walker and Greenville Police Officer Connelly checked the scene and found no vehicles matching the description.
Friday 11/16/01-
00:09- Residential Alarm: Offcier Walker responded to Blueberry Road for a residential burglar alarm. The residence was secure and no cause was determined.
01:12- Noise complaint: A resident of Mill Street reported that three intoxicated individuals were making too much noise and would not leave her apartment. The individuals departed before police arrived.
11:48- A resident of Connecticutt reported a possible case of computer crime committed by a juvenile resident of New Ipswich. The situation was determined to be a misunderstanding and was resolved by the two individuals.
18:59- MV Accident: Officer Walker and Greenville Police Officer Connelly responded to the scene of a three car accident on Route 124 near Windblown Ski Area. All three drivers reported that a car ahead of them had made an abrupt reduction in speed to perform a left hand turn. When the driver of the first car, Evelyn Mire, 21, of Rindge, slowed down to avoid the vehicle the driver of the second car, Wayne Griffis, 45, of New Ipswich and the driver of the third car, Maria Stapanon, 18, of Greenville were unable to avoid a collision. The third car, a 1994 Ford Escort, was towed from the scene.
21:49- Open burn: A large campfire was reported on Locke Road. No permits to burn had been issued. The Fire Department extinguished the blaze and issued a warning to the property owner, Nicholas Grueter.
Saturday 11/17/01-
14:10- Juvenile complaint: Officer Chatel spoke to a resident of Cutter Road about her options in dealing with her unruly daughter.
15:01- Juvenile complaint: The resident of Cutter Road reported that her unruly daughter had caused damage to the house and posed a danger to the mother and her other daughter, who is 4 years old. The juvenile's aunt took her in for the weekend and the mother will deal with the matter on Monday when the courts are open.
