11/11/02 to 11/17/02-
Monday 11/11/02-
0902: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to a 911 Hang Up call at a residence on Academy Road. They determined that it was a child playing with the phone.
0915: MV Complaint: Police received a report of a truck spinning its tires and operating recklessly on Turnpike Road. The vehicle was gone on arrival and Police will be speaking to the owner.
1420: Neighbor Dispute: Police took another report in an ongoing neighbor dispute.
1430: OHRV Complaint: Police received a report that a loud OHRV was operating on Greenfarm Road. Police are looking into the matter.
1545: Suspicious Activity: Police received a report of suspicious activity on Wheeler Road. They are looking into the matter.
1859: Suspicious Person: Police received a report that a juvenile from Greenville was left without a ride on Stowell Road. Police spoke to the juvenile and then gave him a ride home.
1950: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a man who had locked himself out of his vehicle on Cedar Ridge Drive.
2051: Arrest: As the result of a motor vehicle stop, Police arrested Alan Vaillancourt, 21, of New Ipswich for Reckless Operation and violation of the Town Noise Ordinance.
2245: MV Stop: Police stopped Jason Kuusisto, 19, of New Ipswich on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.
Tuesday 11/12/02-
0810: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to Fox Farm Road for a 911 Hang Up call. On arrival, they spoke to the residents, who stated that they were going to call for an ambulance, but decided to drive to the hospital instead. Police cleared the scene.
0930: Criminal Mischief: Police were notified that a mailbox on Ashburnham Road was damaged by an unknown person.
1450: Mutual Aid: Police were informed that the Jaffrey Police were looking for a vehicle registered to a New Ipswich resident. They attempted to locate the vehicle, and it was later found by a Jaffrey Police Officer.
1615: Theft: Police received a report that a generator was stolen from a shed on Poor Farm Road. Police are investigating the matter.
1930: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to Ashby Road for a 911 Hang Up call. They determined that the resident misdialed the phone. Police then cleared the scene.
Wednesday 1/13/02-
0818: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to Turnpike Road for a 911 Hang Up call. They determined that it was accidental and cleared the scene.
1055: MV Accident: Police were informed that an accident had occurred on Turnpike Road. All parties had left the scene. The driver of the vehicle that was struck was given an Operator's Accident Report.
1115: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a New Ipswich resident who needed information on how to deal with a troubled teen.
1650: MV Accident: Police received a report that a deer ran into a vehicle and caused some minor damage to the rear spoiler. The deer appeared uninjured and ran off into the woods.
Thursday 11/14/02-
1205: Mutual Aid: Amherst Police asked the New Ipswich Police to contact a resident concerning an investigation.
1240: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a New Ipswich resident with obtaining a fingerprint card for school employment.
1445: Mutual Aid: Police received a report of a vehicle that was operating erratically in Greenville and was possibly headed towards New Ipswich. The vehicle was gone on arrival.
1530: Citizen Assist: A New Ipswich resident reported that she was unable to gain access to her house. Police took her spare key from the Safe Key box and let her into the house.
1625: Citizen Assist: A New Ipswich resident spoke to Police about the fact that his registration had recently been suspended by the State. Police explained that the State could take his registration and informed him of the process to attempt to get it back.
1934: Disabled MV: Police received a report that a vehicle broke down and went off the road on Taylor Road. It was towed to a garage and Police cleared the scene.
Friday 11/15/02-
0815: MV Stop: Police stopped Hugo Provetti, 25, of Milford, MA on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed: School Zone.
1058: MV Complaint: Police received a report that a dump truck was driving down Turnpike Road with bags of trash falling out of it. The vehicle is registered to a local trash disposal company..
1909: Check the Welfare: Police observed a pedestrian walking down Ashby Road. A van drove by and Police observed that the pedestrian was no longer there. They stopped the van to ensure the well being of the pedestrian and determined that it was driven by the pedestrian's husband.
Saturday 11/16/02-
1239: Alarm: Police responded to Mascenic for a burglar alarm. The doors were secure and the area was clear.
1447: Alarm: Police responded to the ambulance bay for a burglar alarm. There were employees working on the alarm system and Police cleared the scene.
1515: Suspicious Person: Police observed a vehicle behind the Highway Garage. They spoke to the driver, who stated that he was looking at some equipment his friend made. He departed the area without incident.
2055: MV Stop: Police stopped Nathan Rautiola, 17, of New Ipswich on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Violation of a Town Ordinance.
2140: JV Complaint: Police observed a large group of juveniles running out into the road as cars were driving by on Turnpike Road. They were advised to move along.
2210: OHRV Complaint: Police observed an OHRV operating on Turnpike Road. Due to road conditions, they made no attempt to pursue it.
2235: OHRV Complaint: Police observed an OHRV operating on River Road. The OHRV fled the area.
2310: Arrest: As the result of a motor vehicle stop, Police arrested George Noukas, 19, of New Ipswich and charged him with Reckless Operation and violation of the Town Noise Ordinance.
Sunday 11/17/02-
1538: Assist Fire Department: Police responded to a residence on Malthouse Road for a possible house fire. The Fire Department determined that some hot ashes from a fireplace caused a rug to catch fire. The fire was put out and no other damage occurred.
1625: MV Stop: Police stopped Timothy Johnson, 20, of Greenville on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.
1835: Alarm: Police responded to Appleton School for a burglar alarm. The building was secure and the alarm was reset by a keyholder.
1855: Criminal Mischief: An unknown person drove over the lawn at Boynton Middle School, causing damage to the lawn and a tree. The extent of the damage cannot be determined until the snow melts.
2140: Tree Down: Police directed traffic on River Road while the Highway Department took care of a tree that fell across the road.
2217: Ambulance Assist: Police responded to a residence on Appleton Road to assist SVAS with a lift assist.
