Police Log Week Ending 11/24/2001




11/19/01 to 11/24/01


Sunday 11/18/01-

12:45- Trespassers: A resident of Timbertop Road reported possible hunters on private property. Officer Chatel checked the area and found a green pickup truck, but there were no signs or sounds of hunters in the area.

17:01- MV Off Road: Officer Chatel responded to a report of a vehicle off the road on Lower River Road. On arrival he found that Christopher Olds of New Ipswich had run out of gas and had slid into a ditch. The vehicle was towed to his house and he was cited for driving an unregistered vehicle and for driving with an expired license.

18:01- Dog complaint: Robert Lipirt, a resident of Mason reported that he was riding his bicycle along Main Street in New Ipswich when a dog belonging to Joanne McGovern chased him. He fell off the bicycle and sustained minor injuries. The bicycle was also damaged. The Animal Control Officer was notified and the owner of the dog agreed to reimburse Mr. Lipirt for all costs.


Monday 11/19/01-

9:10: Criminal mischief: A resident of Finn Hill Road reported damage to his mailbox.


Wednesday 11/21/01-

11:40: MV Complaint: Police investigated a complaint of vehicles speeding up and down Mountain View Drive. No vehicles were found in the area.

18:00: Mutual Aid: Police assisted Greenville PD in serving paperwork in Greenville.

19:47: Mutual Aid: Police assisted Greenville PD with an arrest in Greenville.


Thursday 11/22/01-

08:26: Ambulance Assist: Police assisted SVAS with a call on Highbridge Road.

20:50: Criminal Mischief: A New Ipswich resident reported that she and her boyfriend had an argument and he then broke her car window by punching it. Police, assisted by Greenville PD, were unable to find the boyfriend.


Friday 11/23/01-

16:30: Criminal Mischief: A resident of Ashby road reported that her vehicle had been vandalized sometime after Sunday 11/18.

16:32: MV Complaint: A New Ipswich resident reported that a vehicle was spinning its tires along North Road.

16:45: MV Complaint: A resident of Gibbs Ave. reported a suspicious grey pickup truck in the area.


Saturday 11/24/01-

12:50: OHRV Complaint: Police received a report that the driver of an OHRV was spinning its tires on Appleton Road, which caused gravel to strike passing cars. A resident of new Ipswich was subsequently arrested for Operating after Suspension and Operating an OHRV on a Way.

23:41: MV Complaint: A New Ipswich resident reported that there were cars squealing their tires in the church parking lot on Goen Road.
