11/18/02 to 11/24/02-



Monday 11/18/02-

0805: Tree Down: Police were advised that a tree was down on some wires on Kenneybeck Court. PSNH was notified.

0828: Tree Down: Police were advised that a tree was down on some wires on Thayer Road. PSNH was notified.

0842: Tree Down: Police were advised that a tree and wires were down, blocking on Ashby Road. PSNH was notified and the road was closed for safety.

0954: Tree Down: Police were advised that a wire was down on Turnpike Road. PSNH was notified.

1038: Tree Down: Police were advised that a tree and some wires were blocking Ashby Road. PSNH was notified.

1105: Tree Down: Police were advised that a tree and some wires were blocking Perry Road. PSNH was notified.

1112: Tree Down: Police were advised that a tree was blocking River Road. It was removed by the Highway Department.

1256: Tree Down: Police were advised that a tree was blocking Ashby Road. It was removed by the Highway Department.

1306: Tree Down: Police were advised that a tree was blocking Ashby Road. It was removed by the Highway Department.

1727: Disabled MV: Police assisted a motorist whose vehicle was stuck in a snow bank on River Road. There was no damage to the vehicle.

1842: Tree Down: Police were advised that a tree was blocking Temple Road. It was removed by the Highway Department.


Tuesday 11/19/02-

0925: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a Greenville resident with obtaining a fingerprint card for school employment.

1145: Harassing Phone Calls: Police spoke to a Greenville resident who stated that she was receiving harassing phone calls from a New Ipswich resident. Police are looking into the matter.

1210: Assist Ambulance: Police assisted SVAS with a medical call on Main Street.

1330: MV Complaint: Police received a report that a vehicle was blocking the travel lane on Thayer Road. They spoke to the cable repairman, who was off the road and had traffic cones all around the vehicle. Police determined that there was no safety hazard and cleared the scene.

1342: Loose Dog: Police observed a woman chasing a dog down the middle of Turnpike Road. Due to safety concerns, they stopped traffic and assisted her in catching the animal.

1400: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a New Ipswich resident with obtaining a fingerprint card for school employment.

1438: Wires Down: Police were informed that a wire was hanging too low over Turnpike Road. They determined that the wire did not pose a safety hazard and informed PSNH of the matter.

1545: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a New Ipswich resident with obtaining a fingerprint card for school employment.

1630: Follow Up: Police conducted a follow up on a motor vehicle complaint case.

1650: Assist Ambulance: Police assisted SVAS with a medical call on Main Street.

1708: Follow Up: Police conducted a follow up investigation on a suspicious activity case.

1905: MV Accident: Police responded to Fox Farm Road and took a report of a motor vehicle that struck a deer on Poor Farm Road.


Wednesday 11/20/02-

0914: MV Complaint: Police were informed that an armored truck was driving erratically. They spoke to the driver, who stated that he was having trouble maintaining control of the vehicle due to high winds and black ice and was driving in the breakdown lane.

0945: Follow Up: Police conducted a follow up investigation on a DWI case.

1220: MV Complaint: Police received a report of a red Jeep Wrangler operating recklessly on Turnpike Road. The complainant did not get a plate number, so Police informed him that they would be on the lookout for the vehicle.

1726: MV Accident: While on a motor vehicle stop, Police observed a motor vehicle accident. Rhonda Parker, 32, of Greenville stopped to turn left and her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle operated by Michael Labonte, 29, of Rindge. There were no injuries, but Labonte's vehicle had to be towed from the scene.


Thursday 11/21/02-

1140: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a Wilton resident with obtaining a fingerprint card for school employment.

1256: Lost Dog: Police spoke to a New Ipswich resident who lost her dog two years ago. She stated that a dog matching his description had been picked up by the Police and she wanted to see if it was hers. She was referred to the Animal Control Officer.

1341: Attempted Burglary: Police received a report that someone had attempted to break into the Community Christian Church on Main Street. Nothing was taken and Police are looking into the matter.

1351: Neighbor Dispute: Police spoke to a resident of Gibbs Avenue about an ongoing neighbor dispute.

1405: Loose Dog: Police were informed that a New Ipswich resident found a dog on Nashua Road. The Animal was turned over to the Animal Control Officer.

1852: Fire: Police responded to a business on Will Drive for a report of a car fire. The vehicle was not inside when Police arrived and the Fire Department extinguished the fire.

2105: MV Stop: Police stopped Michael Rush, 19, of Centrereach, NY on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for a Yellow Line violation.

2130: MV Stop: Police stopped Joan Simpson, 50, of New Ipswich on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for manner of operation.

2228: Fire Alarm: Police responded to a residence on Ashby Road to assist the Fire Department at a fire alarm. It was a false alarm and Police cleared the scene.


Friday 11/22/02-

0900: MV Stop: Police stopped Douglas Lasher, 67, of Marlborough, NH on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed.

1035: Neighbor Dispute: Police spoke to a resident of Gibbs Avenue in reference to an ongoing neighbor dispute.

1110: Citizen Assist: Police assisted a New Ipswich resident with obtaining a fingerprint card for school employment.

1346: Mutual Aid: Police notified a New Ipswich resident that the Ashburnham Police needed to speak to her.

1500: MV Stop: Police stopped Justin Veprauskas, 18, of New Ipswich on Temple Road and issued a Written Warning for Speed: School Zone.

2039: Criminal Mischief: Police received a report that children were throwing snowballs at cars on Page Hill Road.

2255: MV Accident: Police received a report that there was a vehicle off the road on Page Hill Road. Barry Chapman, 19, of Fitzwilliam missed a turn and went off the road. There were no injuries and only minor damage to the vehicle.


Saturday 11/23/02-

1129: Citizen Assist: Police spoke to a local business owner, who stated that a New Ipswich resident had not paid her money on a bill she incurred in May. Police spoke to the resident and informed her that the bill needed to be paid by Friday.

1700: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Ashby Police with an investigation into a DWI case.

2150: MV Summons: Police stopped Rodney Seppala, 18, of Rindge on Turnpike Road and issued a MV Summons for Speed: 72 mph in a 50 mph zone.

2210: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Greenville Police with a pursuit and arrest.

2310: Mutual Aid: While the Greenville Police were tied up with an arrest, the New Ipswich Police responded to assist at a medical call in Greenville.


Sunday 11/24/02-

0001: MV Stop: Police stopped Douglas Saari, 31, of Jaffrey on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Defective Equipment: Exhaust.

0055: MV Complaint: Police observed a truck operating at a high rate of speed on Turnpike Road. They subsequently charged Jed Wheeler, 21, of New Ipswich with Misuse of Plates and Speed: 62 mph in a 40 mph zone.

0105: MV Summons: Police stopped Nolan Johnson, 21, of Astoria, OR on Turnpike Road and issued a MV Summons for Speed: 70 mph in a 40 mph zone.

0940: Theft: Police received a report that some tools were stolen from a shed on Wheeler Road. The matter is under investigation.

1015: Citizen Assist: Police spoke to a New Ipswich resident in reference to some concerns she had about another New Ipswich resident.

1025: MV Stop: Police stopped Jasmine Richard, 16, of Rindge on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Defective Equipment: Tail Light and Brake Light.

1145: 911 Hang Up: Police responded to a residence on Greenfarm Road for a 911 Hang Up call. They determined that it was children playing with the phone.

1658: Theft: Police were notified that a resident of Greenfarm Road had a rake taken from his yard, possibly by another neighbor.

1910: MV Stop: Police stopped Camella Thibeault, 34, of Hancock, NH on Turnpike Road and issued a Written Warning for Defective Equipment: Tail Light.

2316: Arrest: As the result of a motor vehicle stop, Police arrested Roy Holombo, 17, of New Ipswich and charged him with DWI.
