Police Log Week Ending 12/22/01




12/16/01 to - 12/22/01

Monday 12/17/01-

11:56: MV Off the Road: Police received a report that a tractor trailer was off the road by Windblown Ski Area, due to icy road conditions. The State Highway Department was notified and police stood by to direct traffic.

12:30: MV Accident: Justin Veprauskas, 17, of New Ipswich lost control of his vehicle on Route 124 due to icy conditions and skidded off the road into a ditch. The vehicle sustained minor damage to the front end, but was able to be driven from the scene.

15:25: Criminal Mischief: A New Ipswich resident reported that four boys were throwing ice at vehicles on Temple Road. There was no one in the area when police arrived.

15:45: Lost Dog: A resident of Perry Road reported that she was missing a female husky/shepherd mix. The Animal Control Officer was notified.

18:47: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Ashby, MA police with a foot pursuit. No contact was made with the suspect.


Tuesday 12/18/01-

08:46: Possible Truant: Boynton Middle School reported that a juvenile female had walked into the school and then out again. She returned to school and stated that she wasn't feeling well. Her parents were notified.

12:10: Mutual Aid: New Ipswich Police assisted the Temple Police with possible unwanted subjects in Temple. When police arrived, no one was at the residence and police cleared the scene after the homeowner was notified.

15:45: Wires Down: Police responded to Appleton Road to direct traffic around downed wires until PSNH could respond and fix the problem.

18:08: Bomb Threat: A resident of Mason Road reported that she had received a bomb threat that might be for the school. Her phone number is similar to that of one of the local schools. New Ipswich and Greenville Police searched the schools and nothing was found.

20:09: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Jaffrey Police Department in looking for a missing person, but were unable to locate them.

23:30: MV Accident: Police responded to Collins Road for a motor vehicle accident. Ken Seppala of New Ipswich lost control of his vehicle on a patch of ice and the vehicle had rolled over. The driver did not sustain any injuries but the vehicle was towed.


Wednesday 12/19/01-

10:15: MV Accident: Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 124. Teresa Briggs of Pepperrell, MA had lost control of her vehicle on some ice and struck a tree. There were no injuries, but the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

10:20: Criminal Mischief: A business owner on Turnpike Road reported that someone had taken down the sign for his business and thrown it on the ground. There are no suspects.


Thursday 12/20/01-

08:56: Smell of Gas: Police received a report that there was a smell of gas coming from several houses on Perry Road. The Fire Department was notified and cleared the area without incident.

07:30: Theft: A resident of Poor Farm Road reported that his Suzuki four wheeler had been stolen from his yard. There are no suspects.

10:46: Mutual Aid: Police diverted traffic away from Highbridge Road due to an accident in Greenville.

15:15: Loose cows: Police received a report of two large bulls wandering through yards on Perry Road. The owners were eventually located and the bulls were returned to their pen.

15:40: Attempted Burglary: Police responded to a residential burglary alarm on Temple Road. All entrances were secure and nothing was taken. Police checked the area, but did not encounter any suspicious people.


Saturday 12/22/01-

08:00: Criminal Mischief: A resident of Old Tenney Road reported that someone had run over his mailbox while he was at work. There are no suspects.

09:00: Criminal Mischief: A resident of Locke Road reported that someone had damaged their mailbox. There are no suspects.

16:30: Ambulance Assist: Police assisted SVAS with a sledding injury call at a residence on Kenneybeck Court.

17:00: Theft: A resident of Fox Farm Road reported that someone had stolen their Kawasaki four wheeler from their yard. There are no suspects.

17:37: Mutual Aid: Police assisted the Peterborough Police with a vehicle pursuit on Route 123.
